Hi all, I am trying to install a remote starter in my truck , it has all basic features (no key less entry, no power locks and no alarm). There was already a unit installed but when I bought the truck the dealer told me that the remote was lost and to get another one installed. So I bought one and now I'm trying to install it but am having nothing but problems. I tried to follow the instruction that came with the remote starter that I bought but they are very vague and hard to follow. There was a relay installed on the old one and I'm trying to use it with the new one as a starter kill relay. Can anyone help me with the installation, maybe a diagram.
Thanks

Alright I get that but on the remote starter unit it says to connect an ignition wire to it, how would I get a wire there or do I need that any more.
P.S
This is my first time doing this kinda thing. Little confused.

BTW this is what the old starters relay looked like.
30-Starter (cilonoid side)
87A-Starter (key side)
87-Starter out from unit
85-Ground while running
86-+12V out from unit
Any ideas on what it does?

I took off the starter kill relay, was confusing me, so I just set it up without it. Any ideas on what the old relay setup does?

Alright, so i got everything working. Tested the remote start and all the other things. I unplug it to clean up the wires and to put my truck back together and once it's all set up i try it again and it doesn't work. The module isn't responding to my remote so I try to re-configure it and it's not working. I was having problems the first time calibrating the remote, I finally got it by fluke while I was having a fit on the remote. I've been trying for hours to get this to work but it's still not working. I checked all the situations in the trouble-shooting guide and they all checked out O.K. Any ideas from related issues anyone has had.

To add to the list of problems I got to start my truck and it doesn't turn over because the battery is dead. Now it might be because the door could have been left open last night and that killed the battery but just in case I did something wrong, can you guys think of anything in the wiring that would cause this problem?
Thanks
