Just did an alarm/keyless on an '05 RAV yesterday afternoon, so hopefully this description will be accurate:
--Remove driver's kick panel. (You must remove the doorsill plate first.)
--In the kick panel, you can pretty easily see the bundle of wires that comes into the body, coming from the driver's door. (If you're not sure, grab the rubber boot in the door-hinge area and wiggle it, then you'll see for sure.)
--That bundle coming from the door goes downwards, and separates into two separate bundles, each going to a plug down low in the kick panel.
--In the LOWER of those two plugs, it's all thin wires there......are the blue/orange and blue / YELLOW.
--If you are using a regular (bulb-type) test light, here's how you do it.
*The "clamp" part of the test light should be connected to a source of constant, positive power.
*Touch the tip of the test light to a piece of body metal on the car. If it lights up, you're good.
*Put the test light tip to the desired wire on the car, reach outside, and turn the key in the door.
*If the light comes on while you turn the key, it's the right wire.

Just one more question. Since the rav has no immobilizer or alarm can I set the unit to single pulse on the locks?

Try this...
Turn the key to unlock in the drivers door one time. Does it unlock ONLY the drivers door, or all the doors? If it only does the drivers door, you will need to set it to double pulse. On Toyotas and Nissans I usually set the system up for double pulse with the shortest pulse possible (usually 150ms). That way all 4 doors open quickly after hitting unlock.
There are wires coming from the passenger door lock cylinder that will unlock all 4 doors with a single pulse. Unfortunately, I don't know the color/location of those wires. I think you have to get them in the passenger kick panel.

Not sure if this helps because most of the UK spec cars came with (dealer installed) alarms. Behind the glove box (LEFT hand side is a seies of white connector blocks. These will give you door contacts, trunk contacts lock and unlock neg pulse, this locks and unlocks all doors, no need for seconf pulse, sorry if I've confused you.

The single/double pulse isn't related to whether or not you have an alarm, but rather, what your preferences are.
--On the blue / YELLOW unlock wire, you may have already discovered this, but:
1 pulse unlocks only the driver's door.
A second pulse, within a brief period of time, unlocks the other four doors (including the tailgate).
--If you prefer all of the doors to be open every time you disarm the alarm, program your unit for double pulse.
--If you prefer to have ONLY the driver's door unlock on the first press (as many late-model cars do), leave the unit programmed for single-pulse.
Most modern car alarms allow you to press the "unlock/disarm" button on the remote as many times as you wish, regardless of whether the alarm is armed or not.
If that's the case, just press the button a second time, and the other doors will unlock.
