Unless you can afford a 13W7, then you have picked a really great product.

At least that's what I keep hearing around here!

TC Sounds (with maybe the exception of the VERY expensive W7).  I was apprehensive at first as it was a brand I was completely unfamiliar with, but HAEMPHYST sold me on them and he was absolutely right about every accolade he threw their way.  I've owned rockford, kicker, audiobahn, boston, mtx, soundstream and I've installed all of the aforementioned along with alpine, infinity, pioneer, polk, sony as well as other brands.  And there is no question in my mind that a comparably priced TC sounds sub is not only better, but MUCH better--especially in the right enclosure.  You MIGHT get more sheer volume out of a Kicker L7, an Alpine Type R or something like that--but in terms of clarity, depth, detail and every other meaningful SQ element the TC sounds are inarguably better AND they still produce high SPL.

My personal opinion is that I'm not a big fan of TC Sounds subs.  They utilize some design techniques that I think hinder their performance and longterm reliability.  They do offer a lot of bang for the buck since they sell their product directly.

I'm personally a big fan of JL Audio.  They are a bit more expensive than most other brands, but their designs have proven to be top notch and very well engineered.

I have recently looked into these speakers and have found a major flaw in their advertising practices. They claim a 3" peak to peak stroke of undistorted sound. This is an all out lie! 10mm would be an amazing achievement. I have to wonder how far they are willing to go to make a buck. They might have a great product, and I am curious to test their products. But for now I know that they are willing to tell outrageous lies.

Hmm.  Not sure about all that.

Yea.  I was thinking really hard on a pair of TC 12's.... they're beautiful woofers...... but a few minutes with WinISD and the spec's for the good ole' JLW3... well.

I think kfr01said it best "JL beats brand X"

And you've NEVER stretched the truth to make a sale... Hmmm?

HOW do you know? You admitted yourself you know little to nothing about the drivers. Thilo is an amazing designer, and ANYTHING is possible with adequate design time.
Lies? Not likely. Potentially "stretching the truth", maybe, but if you've never dealt with the drivers, how can you say they are lying?
Are you of the belief that 3" isn't POSSIBLE? You'd be wrong there. Adire had a 24" flat diaphragm, with 4" of linear - The Parthenon. (4 inches, right Steven? You'll have to refresh my memory...) I saw it. 120dB @ 20Hz WITHOUT AN ENCLOSURE! And it DIDN'T have a frame, even - it was a diaphragm attached to a voicecoil, and no surround. It can be done, and if you DON'T know the product, please reserve your judgement.

They DO, and please do so, before casting aspersions.
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

I haven't heard my TC-3000 15" yet, but I can surely say it looks to be the visually nicest built subwoofer I have run across so far.
