Are you of the belief that 3" isn't POSSIBLE? You'd be wrong there. Adire had a 24" flat diaphragm, with 4" of linear - The Parthenon. (4 inches, right Steven? You'll have to refresh my memory...) I saw it. 120dB @ 20Hz WITHOUT AN ENCLOSURE! And it DIDN'T have a frame, even - it was a diaphragm attached to a voicecoil, and no surround. .

80mm one way linear excursion.  That's over 6" peak to peak linear.  With the 24" diaphragm attached it had more displacement than 12 of our 15" Tumults (our subs with 13W7 excursion capabilities).  For reference, that's 25% more excursion than MTX's Jackhammer and it only weighed 45 lbs.

Have mentioned before that anyone wanting a TC sub for the cheap prices had better hurry because of their upcoming price increases, which were supposed to be up to 50% higher, well noticed today that they changed it from 50%-100% on all products so, TC won't be sold at good deals anymore, you want them, you gonna shell out some money for them very soon!

That sucks! So, are they still good for the money, or should 'we' save up for JL?

Alpine PDX1.1000. Got one, use it, LOVE it!
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

Which version did you get voice coil wise? And just from everything I have read or heard about TC subs, I would think that sub would beg for more then just a 1000 watts.

I agree, it should take more than 1000wrms. Haemphyst has a 1.1000 on a  TC1000 (love the box, BTW) so I think you should put about 2000 to it.
