HI I am installing lambo doors on a 99 lincoln towncar and hooking them up to a linear actuator. I want to run them up and down off one channel in my alarm. I have been through every actuator forum and couldn't find what I was looking for that might be because it cant be done.

Ok the actuator has 2 wires red and black hook power to red and ground to black and it will extend. switch it with power to black and ground to red and it will retract. Is there anyway to hook this up to one channel in my remote (for only one side I will hook the other side to another channel) WITHOUT using micro switches. for example i press lock channel once and the door goes up until the built in limit swich stops it then i press the lock button again and the door closes. If its not possible I understand but if it is this is the best place to find out.

Thanks Dallas

linear actuator for lambo doors -- posted image. Latched On/Off Output Using a Single Momentary Pulse
Similar to the momentary to constant configuration above, we can engage and disengage the latched output with a single pulse from a switch or an output from an alarm or remote keyless entry. The first pulse from the switch will engage the latch. The next pulse from the switch will disengage the latch.

Here is a diagram for the latching portion of what you need.  The pushbutton switch at bottom of the picture can be replaced by the negative output of your alarm.

This will take 2 more relays to complete what you need to do. I am looking for a diagram here.  If I can't find one I will write instructions.

Are you sure there are limit switches in the actuators?

No luck finding a suitable diagram so here it goes.   Like I said earlier you will need 2 more relays besides the 4 above.

connect the output from the 4 relays above to terminal 85 of both relays.  Connect ground to terminal 86 of both relays.  Connect the red wire of the actuator to terminal 30 of relay 1.  Connect the black wire of the actuator to term. 30 of relay 2. On relay 1 connect 12 volts to 87A and ground to 87.   On relay 2 connect  Ground to 87A and 12 volts to 87.

We want the setup to pull no current when the doors are closed. In order to test this, disconnect the 12 volt output from the 4 relay setup, if the doors stay down everything is OK.  If the doors go up, you will need to switch the red and black going to the actuators.

If you do not check the above, and have it wrong the relays will be pulling current when the car is parked.  And a dead battery could keep you from getting into the vehicle.

Most Remotes use a different output for each mode. Mode 1 being the first click of the button and Mode 2 being the second. Just hook the respective outputs to each relay and only two relays are needed to do the job.
