I have a 1995 240sx manual with a 2w900fm-s compustar alarm. it was installed by some radio shop and they didn't bypass the clutch so when i remote start it, it won't start with out the clutch in.  I heard you just take a starter wire from the brain and connect it to the clutch wire? is that correct?

Hi it depends on if you clutch bypass needs a positive or negative trigger. Why don't you just take it back to them and get them to finish the job. You could probably do it yourself you would a need dmm and some knowledge in the field. The clutch switch you will find all the way at the back of the clutch pedal close to the firewall. It will either go to ground when pressed or will go to 12 volts during crank. If it goes to ground you will need to take the BLACK/ red wire of cn2 from the compustar and attach it to the wire that goes to ground when pressed. If positive you may be able to take the starter output from the compustar and connect it directly to the wire at the clutch switch.

Need to trigger a relay to bypass the clutch when the remote starter is activated.  Take a 12volt relay and connect pin 85 to a fused 12 volt source. Connected pin 86 connected to the ground when running from the remote start brain.  At the top of you clutch pedal is a plug that has two wires in it.  Pin 86 goes to on if the wires and pin 30 goes to the other wire.  This only bypasses the clutch when the remote start is activated.

sorry about that, pin 85, 86, 87,87a, and 30 are the pin on a 5 pin 12volt relay.  I told you wrong earlier, pin 87 go to one of the wire and pin 30 goes to the other.  This doing it this way, does it matter if is pos. or neg, because it just connected the two wires on the clutch together, just like if you press the clutch in.
