I'm new to this forum and looking for some advice.

I have an Alpine HU with 4v preouts running an Alpine F240 (40w RMS x 4) pushing Alpine components and coaxles.  I have 4 ga power wire runnning from the batt to a distro, and then 8 ga running to the Alpine (I plan on adding a sub/amp later).  For the ground, I have 8 ga grounded to the floor (scraped metal) using a self tapping screw, about 18 inches from the amp.  I do not have any noise, that I can hear, and the sound is pretty clear.  The problem is the volume.  Even with the amp gains turned up about 1/4 to 1/2 way, I have to crank the volume of the HU to about 25 to get decent loudness....I just don't think the amp is putting out what it should.

Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Do a search in here on how to set your gain, and you should find what you need.
My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.
