having trouble installing remote start on a toyota camry 96. i need a wire that is only on in run position, a "heater" blower wire. the site lists it as accessory and BLACK / YELLOW - but that is an ignition wire, any ideas?

A ign is only on in the run position and as soon as that wire along with all the other ignitions and accesories (if applicable) is powerred up, it should work.

BLACK / YELLOW is Accessory
BLACK/ Orange is Ignition
BLACK / YELLOW Should power the heater

sorry, its early - i meant to say BLACK / YELLOW is on in run and crank positions. BLACK/ orange is the same. so still not clear on which is the heater :(

now i also have a new problem - there are 2 power wires that are always on going to the ignition, white and WHITE/ red, today i accidently touched the WHITE/ red to a ground and i saw a spark, and now that wire has no power. i guess a fuse blew somewhere, any ideas of where it may be located? the car still cranks by key, so i wonder why there are 2 power wires like that going to it, if its even needed or could i even just splice into the white one?

ugh, update - i tried to actually crank the car, and it does not crank now. it just soundslike it is trying. i guess it needs that other power wire - can i just splice in to the other or where could i find the fuse?

I would not recommend that.  Go into the fuse box under the hood and there should be 2 fuses labeled IGN one rated a 40amp and another one (but I do not know the amp rating).  Just replace the one that is blown, it should crank up right away.

ah, i found it - it was a 30amp fuse by the way. the car cranks again :) well i'm at least back to the point of if i can't get this thing working this weekend i can just pull it out and go back to using my keys 96 toyota camry remote start -- posted image. i called bulldog and asked them what i should try, they said i should disconnect all the wires from the remote start unit except the power and ground and see if it cranks, and then add one wire at a time... guess i'll try that.

i disconnected everything tonight, and hooked up the remote start using the instructions on this site, i used:

white for 12v constant power

BLACK/ white for starter

black orange for ignition

BLACK / YELLOW for accessory

GREEN / WHITE for brake

green for parking ligthts

grounded the ground wire to chassis

still same as before :( when i plug in it will flash the parking lights when i hit start, but doesn't try to crank the car. any ideas? about to ready to give up on this. 96 toyota camry remote start -- posted image.

do you have some kind of starter inhibitor relay (starter kill)? if so, you may have putted the starter wire at the wrong side of the starter inhibitor relay (starter kill).
