Does anyone know where to locate the Factory Disarm wire on this car? On the site it says that it is in the driver's kick panel, but I don't see anything down there. There is a big black connector under the left vent that has a GREEN/ orange wire - is this it?

Sorry not clear about your reply... does this sound like the right wire that I described? I do not see any 20 pin black connectors. If I hook it up to the disarm wire, will I need resistors? Where did you get this information, I was just going by the12volt's listing for the car and it made no mention of this. Hope you can clarify.

Alarm arm & disarmis a lt GREEN/ orange wire (+) at the DKP above hood release .Factory alarm arm requires a positive trigger with a 940 ohm resistor wired in series. Factory alarm disarm requires a positive trigger with a 470 ohm resistor wired in series. You DO need two relays to do this.

thanks for the reply. i was checking out the wiring diagrams from bulldog (the unit i'm hooking up is a bulldog rs114) at http://bulldogsecurity.com/New%20Wires/New%20Wires/Wires/sebrc96-98.htm and it has a few different wires listed than this site. also it makes no mention of needing relays or resistors (only for the door lock/unlock wire). this is just a remote start/keyless entry, not an alarm unit if that makes a difference. i have a diagram on how to hook up the relays/resistors for the unlock/lock, but can you help me with a diagram on the alarm like you described? by the way this is a 97 convertible.

The relay diagram will be the same as for the locking/unlocking wires. The only thing different will be the target wire for pin 30 will be the LIGHT GREEN/ ORANGE and the resistance for each relay is different.

okay luckily i have the relays to do it with already, one more thing if you happened to have worked on one of these cars before. on teh back of this connector it is a lt GREEN/ orange wire, and on the front where it plugs in there are 2 lt GREEN/ orange wires coming together going in to the hole off the connector - does it matter which of these wires i use? or which would be preferred?

Does the door locks work when you unplug the connector ? If it doesn't then you have the right connector, now if the 2 wires go into the same pin ( ??? ) then I would say go to the back of the plug where it exits into one wire, cut this wire and test the door locks again. If they do not work, then reattach the wire with the two leads coming off the relays to this wire.

Remember that it is a LIGHT GREEN/ Orange wire not the GREEN/ Orange or the Dark GREEN/ Orange.

I tried unplugging that connector and the door locks still worked fine. i'm really new to this, and this is only my second install - sorry for bugging you guys so much. so with the factory alarm unplugged it should stop the power locks from working right? i tried taking a picture of the area of the connections:

the red arrow is pointing the plugin under the vent i thought was the right one, but the locks still worked after unplugging. down and to the left of that connector is a bunch of connectors - but none are black or have 20 pins... am i even looking in the right area? i found a few GREEN/ orange wires, but none that i would call light green.
