Yes, more info needed like what unit you installed, and where you grabbed unlock wire, and why you used the unlock wire and not the lock wireRS addon/ no work help! -- posted image..
Just going on the information you have though, you may need a relay if the lock wire does not have enough juice running through it to trigger the starter.
Make sure you use the lock wire as your trigger though, and make sure you have tested the wire you are grabbing: Use a Digital Multimeter and the wire should read 12volts at rest, and when you press the lock button on the keyless entry transmitter it should drop to zero volts. if your lock wire that you grabbed tests like that and it does not trigger the remote starter then you will need a relay with the lock wire as the trigger. Oh yeah and once everything is working, dont forget to program the unit to require three pulses to trigger the remote start feature or else you will start your car eveytime you lock the doors.

i hooked to lock wire, do you have to use the unlock wire? i got the wire from the 3 pin gray plug that runs to the factory keyless unit.  when i tested on the lock wire it jumps up couple after pressing lock.

i think it is RES remote start add-on

try using a relay to trigger the RES add-on. Hook it up like this: Tap the lock wire like you did, not the unlock wire. Run this wire to pin 85 of the relay, use a diode on this wire with the band facing the lock wire. Pin 86 goes to 12v+, Pin 30 goes to the RES-R trigger input wire, and pin 87 goes to ground. This will make it work if what you have told me thus far is accurate.

i havent try the relay to trigger the RES add-on. but when start it manually by grounding it, it cranks normal but doesnt stay on for long, last only 2-3 sec then off and then it try to crank again.

i havent hook up the tach wire, it say it's optional to the neg side of the coil. if i were to hook this up, would i just hook it up to the blue wire on the injector with 2 wires on it.

why does it say neg side of the coil, is that mean its a neg pulse. am confuse about this. but i test it using positive.

this is what i did to test my tach wire, dmm set to ac -200v/ black probe to ground and red to the wire. it reads at 32 and steadily jumps up as reving on the gas.

Yes hooking up your tach wire will solve the problem of it not staying running. Make sure you switch the unit over to tach mode. Your tach signal should read beteween 1 and 6 volts AC. You can use an injector wire by grabbing one of the unique colored wires. All injectors share one common colored wire, so do NOT grab the common one.
Hooking the relay up will definately solve your trigger problem: that is if you have it setup right.

but the manual say "optional (-) coil tach input. do not connect unless the remote start fails to retry if the first crank attempt fails. connects to the (-) of the coil. keep away from high voltage wires. if used, set sw5 to 'off'.

so what i have right now is volt sensing, and if i use that wire and sw5 to off then i have it in tach mode?

i dont understand why testing that tach wire shows in 30s volts. it increase in volt when i rev on the gas. i got this cheap DMM, i dont know if it matters? i did put it in AC mode testing.

any input to this would be great. and thanks a lot J Rilla you been very helpful.

You said the car shuts off after a few seconds, so that means that voltage sensing mode is not working. This is why I said to hook up the tach wire and flip the #5 dipswitch. I am not sure what is going on with your DMM. If you use the injector wire you will not have to test it, it will work for sure.
