Hey everyone. I have a 1997 Mercury Cougar XR7 Bostonian Edition. I own this: http://www.lightobject.com/4CH-RF-Wireless-Remote-Control-1527-TxRx-Kit-Metal-case-P351.aspx . What I am trying to do is, I want to tap into the wires running to the power lock switch on the passenger (or drivers side) door so that i can use two of the channels on the wireless relay system I just mentioned in momentary mode to act as though someone was in the car pressing the lock and unlock buttoms. What I don't know, is which wires on switch I will need to bridge with two of the relays. (There are 7 total, two, which are smaller, I believe are for the lights in the switch). Any help???? Thank you.

The link I provided is not to a keyless entry device. It is just basically four wireless relays. Rather that conventionally plugging into the vehicles computer, as an oem one would, i simply want to use two of the relays to trigger the door lock and unlock switch in either the drivers or passengers door. And also, you mentioned those two wires... I know of those wires, but how do i wire the relays to them?

Well im assuming you can make the polarity whatever you choose...? Is there a manual to look at...? What type of relays are they...? Is it already set-up for a negative output...Or do you have to tell the relays what output...? I know its not a coventional keyless...My question is why not use one...? Anyhow...Does your car have factory keyless...? Do you know what polarity you need the relays to output...? Thats why i wanted to peruse the install/owners manual...!

I don't really get the polarity stuff. There is a manual online, and I already saw the wiring charts on this website, but they didn't help completely. They want a ridiculus price for factory. There is not a factory keyless entry system. The tx/rx device you see from my link is just four relays that are triggered by the remote. For all intentions and purposes, they are switches. What I'm getting at is this. When you're sitting in the car, and you press the button to unlock the door, the switch is making contact with one or some of the 5 wires going into the switch.(There are two others, which I think are for lights.) Which ones? This way, it would be like adding another power lock switch, only actuated remotely.

You dont need a factory OEM unit to add keyless to your car...You can purchase an aftermarket unit to do this...If all you want is keyless entry...These units are really cheap...! But if you already have the unit you mentioned...And can post the install manual...Im sure we can help...!
