I am installing a Viper 5301 with the (18 terminal plug, not two 5s and a 7) in a 2004 Toyota Camry with the four cylinder motor. The camry has no immobilizer. I have installed several remote starts but this one seems to be very confusing with the dual ignition and dual starter wires.
I know what wires are what in the car, but the directions on the Viper are confusing
If someone would be able to make me a chart (specifically of the 8 pin connector) as to what wires are used and or where they go in simple terms that would be very helpful. I do not know what a flex relay is as there is no mention of it in my install manual..
I can also post pictures or be reached at 804-339-2984 if it will help..
The car is apart and i'm trying to get it done..
Thank you!
Bill

That Camry has two Ignition and two Starter wires.  The Viper can directly handle the two Ignitions and Starter1.

H3/1 PINK (+) IGNITION 1 INPUT/OUTPUT                          BLACK/ Red    @ ignition harness
H3/2 RED / WHITE FLEX RELAY +12V INPUT                      WHITE/ Red
H3/3 ORANGE (+) ACCESSORY OUTPUT                         Blue/Red
H3/4 VIOLET (+) STARTER OUTPUT (CAR SIDE)               BLACK/ White
H3/5 RED IGNITION 1 +12V INPUT                                    WHITE/ Red
H3/6 PINK/WHITE (30) FLEX RELAY OUTPUT                    BLACK / YELLOW   *** Factory Default is Ignition2    ( Menu3, Item8 )
H3/7 PINK/BLACK (87a) FLEX RELAY INPUT                     Not Used
H3/8 RED / BLACK ACC/STARTER RELAY +12V INPUT      WHITE/ Red

You will need an extra 30/40A SPDT relay and 20 Amp fuse for the Camrys' Starter2.  Wire as follows :

Relay Pin 86 and 87 to +12V constant thru 20 Amp fuse

Relay Pin 85 to Viper H2/13 Purple (-) 200mA Second Starter Output
Relay Pin 30 to Camry Second Starter     BLACK / YELLOW (+)    @ ignition harness
Relay Pin 87A not used - insulate

Soldering is fun!

I have several 20/30a spdt relays, are these not rated high enough? If its fused at 20 amp why the higher rating on the relay? Sorry if its a silly question..
Thank you!

Your 20/30 Amp relays will be OK.  The 30/40 Amp are the more commonly available ones.  If the Camrys' Starter2 wire is thin gauge, you can fuse accordingly.

IIt is 18 or 20 gauge..Thank you very much. It would also be helpful if I had the correct directions, the ones I have are for the 5301 with the two 5 pin plugs and additional 7 pin instead of the 18 pin all in one plug...I'm going to search for the correct instructions to insure I wire correctly..I would think the colors are the same but need to make sure..
I'm sure Ill have more questions so please check back if you don't mind...I might have something for you if you want it, as a gift for helping..PM me when you get a chance please..

Ok, I must be an idiot...I have downloaded all the manuals and none of them have the 18 pin connector?! I purchased a refurbed 5301, do you know what I have?? All the other connections seem to fit the 5301 and be color appropriate...did they modify the unit on refurb? There are no identifying marks or model number on the base unit, I even opened it and didnt find one..
Thoughts or links welcome!!

While there are differences between them ( the 5701 has alarm features ) this 5701 guide should help :

Actually that appears to be Exactly what I have! I have the Viper sticker and the same engraved CPU on the right side.. Would they have just put a 5701 n for the 5301 refurb unit? All the connections appear to be the exact same as the manual you linked...

Unless they made a mistake, your 5301 should only be a remote start / keyless entry only unit.  While the harnesses might be the same, I doubt that the alarm functions and siren output work.

I uploaded a file for the Viper 5301 with 18 Pin H2 Harness.  Hope it can help clear up you issue.
