Hello everyone. I am in need of some serious assistance with hooking up my comfort closure feature for my viper 5901 to a 2007 Acura TL. I have read several different posts and can't figure it out. I have diodes in hand if they are needed. I need to know which wires from the 5901 hook to which wire to the car. Do I hook to the power unlock wire? or the lock motor wire? How do I diode isolate? Are the connection "tap" ins? Or do I actaully have to cut the wire and run the diode inline? I would greatly appreciate any help. I've been fighting this all weekend.

Thanks

So far all I can come up with is to hook up the green unlock wire from the 5901 to the cylinder unlock blue\white wire in the door. Then turn the comfort closure feature to ON via Menu 1-9. However I have done this multiple times and the feature will not work so I'm at a loss and looking for some type of insight.

My apologies, I meant the Green Lock wire from the 5901 to the door cylinder blue\white lock wire.

Have you tested that wire to make sure the comfort close programming has been stored, N.B. door must be opened or green door trigger wire grounded whilst programming. 5901s were a bit iffy like that.

When I metered out the green wire from the 5901 after the lock sequence, it read about 2.2 vdc for 20 seconds and then dropped out. Correct me if Im wrong, but when I meter the door lock wire from the car it seems to send the wire to ground therefore locking the door. Shouldnt the grren from the 5901 also reference to ground as well???

Yes, diode it 1N4004, band towards 5901. Also the unlock (blue) wire.
The other trick with the door panel off would be to place key in lock and turn till the windows start closing, measure the wires coming off the lock cylinder (3 or 4) and see what happens, e.g. does one go to ground and stay there whilst you're holding the key or latch on to ground after 2-3 seconds?

The way it works when I use the key is the first turn closes to ground and then the second turn closes to ground and stays latched as long as I have the key lacthed. The reference to ground goes away if i release the key, which in turn only rolls the windows up or down for as long as the key is held. The lock is a 3 wire system.
