It appears my factory immobilization system is disabled all the time with remote start installed. Light never blinks when locked on dashboard? It is nissan pathfinder 2010 with aftermarket inoperable remote start in it from prev. Owner. I have no fob for remote start. I am thinking a hidden key may be under dashboard somewhere for immob. Bypass unit but do not see one yet? Could this be a culprit?

It is an older hornet 569t remote start unit under dash.

Truck will also not go into program mode for keyless entry fob programming?

you have to cut the security light wire usually to install a bypass in a new pathfinder so maybe the bypass was unplugged which means that the wire to the light is actually cut in half. can you take the lower dash panel off? its very easy, you just take out screw out on the lower right side of the panel and on the left side there will be a small panel to unsnap and another screw underneath it. those should be the only screws and pull the panel to unsnap the clips.
try to find the bypass or at least any wires that go to the system.
the alarm needs to see a signal on the doorpin wire and be connected to the ignition wire at the main ignition harness before it will go into program mode. either that or the program mode has been locked by someone with a bitwriter.

Thanks Soundnsecure...I will take that panel off and get a better look in there. I have found the remote start module but not the bypass unit yet, with panel, off I should be able to see more of the wiring to see where it goes or if some are cut...and maybe see a bypass unit or key up there...

I have read you can zip tie a key near the ignition in lieu of purchasing a proper bypass unit but I cannot see up that far until I get that panel off, thanks again. Would a key there prevent factory immobilizer from arming when locked?

Yes. Either the key or a part of it (the RFID chip) not near but attached to the plastic "antenna" shroud around the key barrel, 3-5 screws underneath to remove upper and lower steering column cowling.

the key cylinder is on the dash on a pathfinder not on the steering column. its kind of a pain to get to too.

if someone has fixed a key or chip near the key cylinder then you would have to start the truck with a regular non-chipped key. using a chipped key would not start the truck because it would see the signal from two different keys at the same time.

I have seen numerous setups like this online where people had to give up one of their keys for bypass module and still used other chipped key to start?
