Range on the OEM remote FOB is not very good. I suggest getting a system that will piggyback the OEM system and use it's own remote FOB for better range. You can still retain the OEM remote FOB with this type of remote starter, it's just better as far as range and integration is concerned. The actual installation of this is easy because the Toyota doesn't have too many hard wiring bypasses. Also, I think the Toyota's OEM remote FOB doesn't work when the truck has started making keyless entry when remote started impossible.  If you have any further questions, please post them.

Go to eBay & type in " add on remote starter " & pick any one of the systems. When you deal with eBay your totally relying on brand names as opposed to customer support. Just be careful because most of the good brand names do not offer warranty to DIY installers & also if the item wasn't purchased from an authorized dealer. The prices are decent though.

Check out these two as well. These guys have a better feedback rating than the other guy does as well, DEI doesn't offer warranty to customers that install themselves. I'm not sure about Omega but the Crimestopper eBay member will have his own warranty through his company.

There's no way to extend the range on an OEM remote FOB. The add-on remote starters only piggyback the ignition wires and the door lock wires in order for the unit to operate. It doesn't actually transmit anything between the two units through the OEM remote FOB. Your options on these add-on units is to remote start the vehicle.... that's about it that I know of.
