there was alot of bad mouthing sound around products. I just wanted to say that i have had a 4000 watt legacy predator 2 ch amp for a bout 2 years powering 2 1200 watt sony xplod 12" subs. i have the subs hooked up in series on one channel and when i turn up the volume i feel the bass through my chest and cannot hear the person sitting next to me i have been heard blocks away before i came home and that is on one channel. so with my personal experience this amp is strong very durable since my sub box has fallin over quite a few times before it was mounted to a new floor board and is still hittin hard 2 years later. so before people talk bad about a product they should try it out first.

Two blocks away? Wow... What kind of distortion were you "pumping out"? Guaranteed 10% or better. Those products ARE crap, and I can bad-mouth them, as I HAVE had experience with them.
Why are you only using one channel? Oh, wait... the OTHER channel is BLOWN, right?
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

i already had 2 1200 watt subs in my trunk and i didnt need it to get any louder that it already is so the other is not blown. people on a budget can still get the big sounds too just cause i cant afford jbl and kicker doesnt mean that all other products are crap. and as far as distortion goes it sounded good from where i was sittin cause it is tuned right. i have a good box and someone that knows wut they are doing did my setup. and i have a jeep so there is no annoying trunk rattle

The 20+ year Pro's around here have encountered these products and have formed the opinion, The stuff flat out sucks! The claims made by these companies are so full of BS it's hard to keep from laughing. Buy any of the above flea market brands and compare those to a quality equivalent and it very clear why people bad mouth them. I've had boxes of the said failed products I would donate to the local tech school. They weren't worth the effort to even get a repair estimate. I did keep a couple to chock my boat trailer!
That 4000 W Legacy is maybe, and I mean maybe, 800 watts. The first clue is the $300 for 4000W?? Take a look at the numbers on say an Arc 4000se compared to your Legacy. Physical size, required amperage and most importantly the numbers. Electronic performance is based on math and physics not the BS marketing numbers on the outside of the box. As Haemphst stated, 10% distortion, a true quality piece of gear should be below 1%.
The Lanzar model LA-2268 is rated at 2 x 2000W the recommended max fuse is 60 Amps. Mmmmm.
Do I bad mouth the above products, Yes I do. Along with: Pyle, Audiobahn, Sony, Power Acoustics, MA, Boss and the list goes on. I will also give credit when credit is due. In the last 80's Lanzar amps were made by ZED audio. They were great amps. They were sold off and went to hell and have been garbage ever since.
If your stuff bumps, grinds, flaps, farts whatever. If that's what you want, Great.
I do understand being on a budget. There are still brands available that offer good performance. You just need to know what to look for.

legacy amp + sony Xplode subs = get your system metered at a competition and then post something other than an opinion. somebody heard your setup a block away? well i can barely hear my setup 10 feet from my truck BUT i win competitions with the sound inside my truck. hmmmm... what does that tell you about the relationship between how something sounds inside a car and outside a car. IT MEANS NOTHING. i once SAW with my own eyes, at a competition, someone who posted a 150-something(not sure exactly) db or so with a 10 inch sub, but you couldn't hear ANYTHING outside of his truck, all i saw was and the display from the Term-Lab going higher and higher.
