You should look at a JL Audio 12" W7 or W6v2. They can play loud and still sound really good.

if you want SPL go with a ported box, but if you want sound quality then put it in a sealed box, and the Hx2, hmm it depends on which one you go with, either the punch or the powers. the powers will be definately SPL, but if your looking sound quality, then the punch will be yuor choice

I hope that your hx2 is a dual 2 ohm sub to match with your punch amp. Without model #'s it makes things pretty difficult to guess at. I would use your sub in a sealed encosure, around a maximum of 1.5 cu.ft.  It will have nice sq and depth extension and will play to a good spl. If you are not happy with the level of output, then we can recalibrate your box to ported or you can add a second sub.
Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

well ya and no...but you would hear a sound diff if it was in a ported box, cause a sealed box is for sound purpose (less distortion). but still has the bass..ported box has more distortion and it would sound a lil worse than sealed box.

A sealded box has a punchier sound (better for rock ,pop ,country ,etc.). A ported box sounds boomier (good for rap) and usually makes a subs continuous power handling go down about 100 watts or so.
