i am thinking of running two 10" jl audio w6v2s, and one 13.5w6v2" for deep bass.  my thought is to seal the 10s and port the 13.5, but how do i face them in the back of a van to keep them from canceling each other out.  i am a capable carpenter and fiberglasser, but when it comes to the technical end of it...well, you get the idea.

what are your sugestions on this idea?

I would not recommend this particular application. The driver sizes are fairly close together, the two 10's have more surface area than the one 13.5". You will also need two amplifiers and a crossover with bandpass capability to properly use this system. If you do not have anything yet and you are on the road to deep bass, consider any two subs (plugs for Eclipse aluminum in sealed box 12") and a Audio Control Epicenter. This will get you loud with sq and incredibly deep. The Epicenter will also work quite nice with a ported enclosure should you want to go that route as well.

is there really that much of a difference between a 12 eclipse and a 13.5 jl?  i had thought of running two...but im exploring all possibilities.  i have a viper d1200.1 and would like to keep to one amp.  ive never really heard the eclipse, but i will check them out...

Oh yes there is a massive difference in these subs. The Jl subs are a very good sub, in this case the Eclipse offers a little more. Where is your amp designed to operate at for maximum output, if it is 1 ohm, then 2 dvc 4 ohm subs are in your future. If it is 2 ohm then the svc subs are your weapon of choice. Both models of subs require a very well constructed box of 1.25 cu. ft. per chamber. You'll have to check them out at an authorized dealer as they do not sell them on line at all (and they have no warranty from a e-tailer).

ok...i want part looks, thats why the three and the different sizes, and i also want clarity with rock, and the "neigherhood" to hear rap, etc.  would 15" eclipses sound muffled with rock? ive always used 10s and got great rock q, but weak on the low bass...mabye use 12s for a well rounded performer?  ive used jl before and love them, but im up for new ideas for this system..thanks for all your input!

At what load will the amp deliver it's most power? Is it designed for 1 ohm mono or 2 ohm mono applications, this will tell us what kind of driver to look for.

1 ohm....the only weird thing is,  it has outputs for two subs, but no bridge option...if im not mistaken its automaticaly brided inside the amp.  anyone out there mess with directed amps that can verifiy this?  anyways the amp claims one ohm stable. here is the site... http://directed.com/audio/viper/amps/amp_classd.asp

This is a mono amp, thus it does not bridge. It has two outs solely to provide convenience hooking of hooking up multiple subs. The speaker terminal is connected inside of the amp in a parallel configuration. For your amp I would choose two 4 ohm dvc subs in an all parallel configuration.
