I am thinking of getting 2 Audiobahn 10" Flame Q Subs for my system. but I am also liking the Alpine Type - R 10" subs too. I am leaning toward the Audiobahn subs because these subs will be inverted, and the baskets will play a large part in the selection. can you guys let me know what you think about these two subs and maybe sugest other 10" subs that work good and also have cool baskets. oh and please remember I am looking for subs that need about 300W RMS, and cost no more than 300 each.

thanks, The Saint

i'd go with the alpine cuz they are a much better sub. If u want cool looks, go right ahead and get the audiobahn, but you'll be disappointed. ( IMO )

thats the problem, I want great sound primarily, the cool looking basket is a secondary thing. but as they will be inverted to show off the baskets, it's still important.

thanks.

well, the basket on the type R isnt "cool" looking, its still a nice looking rear end, unlike many other woofers out there. Just think of it like this; would u rather have something that looks cool but sounds like ass, or have something that sounds good and looks almost as good. also, everyones got the audiobahns reversed. not many people have the type r's reversed. u can set the trend in ur hood and be cool too!! lol

Well, if what u say is true, I think you answered ur own question. However, I'd hold off and hear what Rob and DY have to say. They always have something good to say. lol.

There are may subs out there that are going to fall into those requirements with cool looking baskets. The audiobahn has always been on the bottom of my list but I put alot of companies on that list that people say I am crazy to put on there. Off the top of my head I would suggest looking at some of the new pheonix gold subs, they have a pretty mean looking ass on them and they sound pretty good. They fall into your requirements. Also the new MTX 7500 and Competion series subs look pretty cool from the rear and sound really nice. Those are just a couple of examples but if you do a little looking around on the net I am sure you can find something you like.

I agree w/ Ravendarat.

Alpine, MTX, Pheonix Gold over Audiobahn any day imo.

How about Alpine type X or MTX 9500? They would look great like that.
