How to get 14 volts

What do i need to get to send 14.4 volts to my amps ? New battery ? or does it have to do with the alternator ?Fortune: You will continue to take chances, and be glad you did.

You need to upgrade your alternator

you need to get one that put out a higher amperage, it won't hurt anything...just make your electrical system stronger...remember up grade your power and grounds coming from your alternator to 4 guage.

when the car is running, you are (or should be) getting 14.4 volts. this is the voltage you should be seeing at the battery terminals, because this is the nominal charge voltage for a 12 volt battery. if you are NOT seeing 14.2 to 14.4 volts, it is likely that you do not have enough alternator to keep up with your existing accessory load, and you should then upgrade your alternator. put in the highest current one you can afford (and that will fit)It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. 14.4 is what the alternator should put out when running, under 14 volts and the alternator doesn't meet specs (as a mechanic when we saw under 14 volts while running we had to run a load test)
