Most of the wattage claims that you read are absolute outright lies. Like the 180w claim on your cd player, another stretch of the truth. You will need an amplfiier wiring kit. The size of the kit will be determined by the size of the amplifier, which in turn will be determined by the subs that you have. Post the model# of the subs you have or the RMS power rating and impedence. Then we can recommend an amp for you to consider. As far as the subs go, if you are happy with them that is all that counts.
Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

I found no modle with that number, anywere.  I used to have a 87 Buick Century, i loved that car (my first).  You need to decide how much you want to spend overall so we have an idea what to recomend.  What are your future plans?  Just upgrade the rest of the stock speakers and let it be?  Leave em stock?  Your not spending alot on your other components so I dont think spending 500 on a sub amp makes sence for you.  And its not a nock, you get what you can afford and enjoy your hobby, or whatever you consider it.  So, how much ya got sucka!  what amp to buy? -- posted image.

Ok, sorry, 150, right...  I think your in this territory....  http://www.cardomain.com/item/POWOV4800

I like that last one because it comes with a remote bass control, so you can adjust the level of the bass from the front seat.  Also its 4 channel, so if you ugrade the speakers in the cabin and decide you want more power, just buy a new sub amp and use the old one to run the cabin speakers, or run the subs off two channels bridged and run the cabin off the other two.  Yes, i know its a BOSS, right, but you only got 150!  Buy the install kit from Wall Mart and buy the one with 8 gauge power(or bigger, the cost difference is like 10), you dont need it but you will be able to upgrade later without doing it all over again.  I highly recomend replacing the cabin speakers upfront. Have fun.

1)  Max wattage ratings mean nothing.  Look at RMS.  Even then only take RMS numbers semi-seriously.  You don't need to match ratings exactly.

I'd purchase a quality amp at a discount from ebay before paying anywhere over $100 for the likes of BOSS or Power Acoustic.

Try this Alpine:  http:///.com/dll?ViewItem&category=18797&item=5715696328&tc=photo

This HIFONICS:  http:///.com/dll?ViewItem&category=18797&item=5715697050&tc=photo

This MTX:   http:///.com/dll?ViewItem&category=39742&item=5716049848&tc=photo

This Xtant:   http:///.com/dll?ViewItem&category=64573&item=5715044762&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

All these brands are much higher quality than either Boss or PA.

See: http://www.audiovideo101.com/dictionary/dictionary.asp?dictionaryid=378

Then read:  http://www.bcae1.com/speakrat.htm

Your Sony subs are not 800 watts rms.  Probably less than 1/2 that.  300 watts is actually quite a lot of power.

Post you sub models and we can help more.
