Can we add that if you mention the word Kicker or Square you get a free smack upside the head?

Hmmm lets see how I can do this. My old lady lost my square which led me to Kicker. Hows that?. If you want pure spl, look at a RFL, its friggin sick. I am sure the argon or whatever that adire thing is, will come up but I dont know if it has any actual production value or not. If Stephan reads this he will fill you in.

I would say check out the Solo X 18 (ha, no slap in the head), DD, RFL, RE's MT, etc.  Basically you want a sub with a high BL with huge Xmech, a higher Qts for a large spike in the response, etc.  That's what most of the subs mentioned here have in common.

Oh and Rav, it's the Parthenon. Spl Sub -- posted image.

speaking of SPL woofers , how does the JL w7s compare in this catagory? or are the even in this catagory. All I know is that they are very expensive and power hungry.

W7s are more of a SQ subs. They can still get loud, but shouldnt be your first choice for pure SPL.

ok pimpin , preciate the feedback. I kinda thought so about the w7s but was thrown buy the amount of minimal required power of those things and the cone excursion. But yes the do also have very smooth response.

I will stick to my eclipses,   144.7 on the lab.   powered by 2 memphis hc-50's     and there 10's     so you dont need 15's or 18's to get spl,   it helps dont get me wrong but for those who know me I will run 4 10's before i run 12's or 15's    I drive all my SPL cars as daily drivers as well, almost all my SPL car could also serve as a SQ car if I really wanted but I normally just need a bad ass interior to keep up with the bass in the rear.     That my 2 cents
