Will this be okay?

yea.... i have some 4 gauge wire runnin from my battery gonna be distrod into two 8 gauges.  One is going to go into my comp amp an ED nine.2 running only 200w.  That should be fine. The second however is going into my sub amp a viper 1200.1, but im going to run my sub only in the 550-600w range.  Will it be okay to run 8 gauge for the viper or will the wire catch on fire??84 benz 300 D turbo
