The hi-end home manufacture i guess a few years ago did some car audio, a good friend of mine said that he has some stock, a few 6.5" component sets, and 10-12 sets of Brand new tweeters in the orig box.

i heard there amazing, but i can not find anyone else who can back that up, or any reviews.

im getting it all by the end of the week so ill know for sure then

I cannot say for certain by WHOM the gear is made, (I would bet money, it ain't Krell proper) but if the past performances for this company are any indication of their price to performance ratio, you are likely gonna pay more than you should for them... The name goes a long way towards that justification.
Perhaps DYohn has some idea of who actually sources the gear...
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

I had never heard of Krell car audio, so I went to the source.  Here's their reply:

Dear David,

Thank you for your e-mail.
Krell Industries, Inc. and Dan D'Agostino never designed or manufactured any car audio speakers. I have no idea where these have come from, but certainly not from us.

Best regards,

Can you take a photo of the speakers and send it to me so I can forward it to them?  Sounds like a trademark infringement.

So, does that mean he's going to give you your money back?  Or are you going to pay for these "KEFs" anyway because he's your trusty buddy?  And KEF is a high-end manufacturer, too, would you say?  You gotta realize that this is a worldwide-read online forum, so when you make a statement / ask a question about a specific brand like you did here that there will be some investigation.  This isn't your private party.  So don't worry yourself over somebody else's underpants.
Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

I demoed a bunch of KEF stuff at a dealer a couple weeks ago because I was curious about the Uni-Q technology.
The Reference stuff was very impressive. Really excellent.
Perhaps I should have anticipated this from the difference in price, but their other lines where just OK. They got harsh in the upper mid, the bass was slightly bloated rather than tight, and while the enclosure looked nice, it just didn't seem to be very dead. I could swear I heard some cabinet related coloration when the right frequencies were playing.
