Difference Betwen a JL Watt and a Sony Watt?

ok, someone tried telling me a JL watt is different from a sony watt. now i know that a JL amp is much more sophisticated(sp?) and efficient then a sony amp so it will sound much better. but as far as a a watt is concerned, isnt an equal JL watt identical to a sony watt? i looked up the meaning of watt and found this... watt   Audio pronunciation of "watt" ( P ) Pronunciation Key (wt) n. You are correct, there is no difference between one JL watt and one sony watt. Your friend was trying to tell you that: 1) The JL has less distortion; and 2) The JL is more honestly rated. There are no mandatory standards for rating car audio amplifiers. Manufacturers can use different methods that inflate their numbers. JL has been known to be more on the honest side.
