Hi all,
Can anyone here recommend any good SQ amps. I'm not looking into something expensive like Brax or Helix amplifiers. :)
I was looking at MA Audio but I believe they are more into SPL, am I correct?
Thanks,

Well most people hate alphasonik because its owned by audiobahn but after last weeks install i am gonna say anything in the Z-series would be good for door speakers and what i use for mine. The abillity to fine tune each channel is really quite amazing. BUT!!! anything you will here is solely opinion just go hear it yourself.

Any other good SQ amps out here? I think we need to have a sticky thread with a list of both recommended SQ and SPL amps.

What do you need this sq amp for? What kind of speakers or subs are you wanting to run off of it

Nice speakers.  What's your budget?  What watt target are you looking for?

DON'T use MA Audio, then... bottom shelf turds, AFAIAC - ESPECIALLY for running highs...
Eclipse, AltoMobile Digitals, MTX... POSSIBLY Alpine, although not NEARLY what they used to be... Brands to avoid: Sony, Audiobahn (and ANY of that ilk), Kenwood (although better than others in this list), Rockford, Kicker, Pioneer...
QUALITY is FAR more important in a mids/highs amp than in a sub amp... spend REAL money on it to drive your obviously carefully chosen components.
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

I'm looking for a dual channel with at least 100W or 150W per channel for the speaker and about 500W for the subs. Budget wise, I don't want to spend 1k for one amplifier ..:)

Not sure about your budget, but since you're running highend separates I would recommend Xtant, Arc, or Zapco. All are pricey, but i have found that there is a huge difference between amps such as the ones i listed and more mainstream lines like RF, Kicker, Alpine,ect... I'm running quart qsd's with an Xtant x604, and the sound is incredible. Previously had them running on a Rockford and the difference was night and day when I switched to the Xtant.
Also can someone explain to me why some people thinks that it is neccessary to run 150-200 watts to separates. At that volume i would think that the experience would be more painful than enjoyable. Just Curious.
