OK, Viper 5901 with the white parking light wire ran directly to the brown + parking light wire in the DS kickpanel.

When the alarm goes off the lights don't flash.  The do when disarming, but this is probably from the XK01 connection.

Do I need to connect the negative parking lights wire as well (I don't see why)?  I couldn't find anything by searching the forums, so I am stating to think that it is an issue with the alarm, but there is no way to set the parking lights in there.

did you install the fuse on the 5901 for the parking lights? Also I always use negative grey/black at the switch.

Is up to the installer to test all wires with a DMM whenever possible.

I always do negative in these trucks, but reguardless of which you use it isn't going to nake them flash. Most Viper(don't know what a 5901 is) units have a program setting for this, does yours?

ditto all the above. i always use (-) parking lights in that truck, easy to grab it at the BCM. there's a "door" on the top of the 5901 that you have to open and put the fuse in. it acts as a jumper meaning depending on how you put it in, it will make for a (+0 or (-) output.

Thanks guys.  I didn't expect so many resposes so fast.

I have the fuse in there as Positive out.

I'll hook up the negative at the BCM.  I did not see any setting for programming this, so I am going to assume that the problem is from not connecting the Negative output.

I'll post if I find out otherwise.

Thanks!

I'm guessing you don't have the proper Parking Lights+(BROWN) wire connected, in the vehicle; an improperly placed and/or blown fuse, in the module. Did you test the vehicle and module wire for operation?

The XK01 does not flash the lights, but if the vehicle has a factory alarm, that may when dis-arming.

Ideal - cmon dude, add to topics in a useful manner, not stuff that is obvious.
Story - Phzzzt! Hey, what happened?! ... Isn't it obvious?
Moral - Never dismiss the obvious.

Any idea what I need to connect the negative parking lights wire to on the alarm?

I'm on site at the customer's house and seem to have left the install manual back at the house.

The 5901 diagram has the pos parking lights out on it but nothing for negative.

Any help would be appreciated.

OK, I am now assuming that I spent too much time in my customer's attic this moring and fried my brain.

So, now that I am back to the real world I believe that all of you were telling me to switch the fuse in the 5901 over to a negative headlight flash output and connnect the white wire to the BCM as a negative pulse instead of to the brown parking light wire as a possitive pulse.... not something in addition to it.

Please let me know if I am wrong.. or right now for that matter.

Thanks.
