When parking my 2000 Tahoe near RF transmitters, the remote control for opening the doors will not work.
When then turning the ignition the engine starts for 2 sec and then it stops.
I think this is a inteference problem, and one fix is to tow the car away from the RF source.
Do some of you know how to disable the remote control, and enable me to start the car whitout using it.
Right now my car is parked 56km from my home and i have to tow i back home tomorrow.
Hope some of you can help me with this annoying function.
Regards
Lucky

Is your vehicle equipped with a remote start unit?

No. It has only the original 3 button remote control. Lock Unlock and horn.
Have heard it is a procedure to disable the function that tells the system only to start when the car is unloced by the remote.
Can't find the procedure on the internet or in the owners manual.
Hope i can find a way to get the engine running tomorrw, and bring my car back home again.

If you add an aftermarket alarm with keyless entry, you must connect that wire to the door unlock output wire of the aftermarket alarm.  It does exactly as it states.  It disarms the factory alarm.

If you do not connect this wire and you lock the doors via the switch on either door, when you disarm the aftermarket alarm and open the door, the factory alarm will sound.

If it starts and stops after a short period of time, it sounds like a Passlock problem. I don't think the inability to start the car is an interference issue. The keyless entry problem probably is due to interference.

Yes, i also think it is the keylock that is the problem. But in some way the two systems interacts. I can't start the unless it has been opened with the keyless entry remote control.
If i open the car with the key it will not start.
This has been a problem since i bought the car. In some places i will not start. I move it away from the rf source an then it start as normal.
If i install a remote start device, will that system disable the keyless entry system?

You can try touching the Factory Disarm wire to ground briefly and see if it will start after using the key to unlock it. If it starts, then yes a remote start should be possible.

Reprogramed the remote control an then it worked fine.
Still a problem when parking near rf sourses.
Anyone have the same experience?

Starting your vehicle will disarm any antitheif on that vehicle.

I would think that it is a passlock problem and nothing to do with rf.

To fix your no range when close to a rf transmitter you need a remote with more range (power)

so you only option would to add a better aftermarket keyless.

Until then open the door with your key.
