Hey guys

I am currently installing a remote starter in my 2005 pontaic sunfire manual trasnmission with that being said i do have three imporatnt questions that being.

1) for the bypass where would I be getting the power for it... said that it needs a constant power source. fused at three amps...would I be tying this onto my iggniton power souce where my remote start also connects to? or should i just use a fuse tap.

2) my iggniton harness has two red covered wires coming from it and the remote starter asks for two power sources should i be useing them both?.. my meter seems to not want to work today ugh.
3) would anyone know where i would be getting my hand break leed from?
keeping in mind this car is a 2005 pontaic sunfire manual trans.

1)Fuse box main constant feed or battery.
2) Same as above to play safe.
3)Base of parking (hand)brake lever, should be a switch there or instrument panel at warning light (wire to).

I am with Howie too.  I have never seen a parking brake wire as a positive.  But to help you find the wire on any parking brake out there, look near the pivot point of the lever/pedal.  There is usually a single wire connected to a switch at the pivot point.  Using a meter to verify that the wire becomes connected to ground when the brake is lifted or depressed.

We have found errors in wiring guides before.  That's why they invented the Digital Multi Meter....    remote starting, 2005 sunfire -- posted image.

ugh ohh..how i wish i had waited for every ones responce....although i had found the parking park wire (thank you)..have i done wrong by using the 12 volt constant off the iggniton wires as my power soucre? they are fused at 50 amps on the fuse block and the remote starter only rquires 30 amp fuseing.

will that be ok or not?

also  would anyone know how I connect my remote starter to my bypass modual as i am yet to see a way to do so. I am useing a prostart 3 in one 1 system and a xpress kit bypass

Thanks again.

Using the 50A rated +12v constants at the ignition switch is OK.

Which bypass model are you using for the Passlock2?

And to clear up the Parking Brake wire issue, what color, location & polarity did you find?
