I recently got a great deal on a Viper 5701 remote start/keyless entry/security system and before I dive in on the install I was wondering if anyone has a write-up or anything for installing one into a 91 240SX. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Wiring guidelines are here on this site.  Also on http://www.bulldogsecurity.com/bdnew/vehiclewiringdiagrams.asp

Also install manual is in the download section of this site.

You should have a DMM for testing all wires prior to making any connections.

Doing a search  for Viper 5701 should bring up other info that could guide you through the install.

No by pass is needed for your car. One less thing to wire up.  Looks to be a rather easy install.

Will have to use the Pink/White as starter 2.  You will have to enter the menu of the brain to change it starter 2 as it comes default as ignition2

When all else fails, Read the Instructions

So let me know if this is correct...according to that link.
1 PINK (+) IGNITION 1 INPUT/OUTPUT -> Ignition 1 BLACK/ RED (+)
2 RED / WHITE (30A) FUSED IGNITION 2 / FLEX RELAY INPUT 87 -> ?????
3 ORANGE ACCESSORY OUTPUT -> Accessory BLUE (+)
4 VIOLET (+) STARTER OUTPUT -> Car side of BLACK/ WHITE (+)
5 GREEN (+) STARTER INPUT -> Key side of BLACK/ WHITE (+)
6 RED (+) FUSED (30A) IGNITION 1 INPUT -> ?????
7 PINK/WHITE (+) IGNITION 2 / FLEX RELAY OUTPUT -> Starter 2 BLACK / YELLOW (+)
8 PINK/BLACK FLEX RELAY INPUT 87A key side (if required) of FLEX RELAY -> ?????
9 RED / BLACK FUSED (30A) ACCESSORY/STARTER INPUT -> ?????
I had a remote start on my 92 S13, but it never worked correctly and it was "professionally" installed, I'm not new to vehicle or relay wiring at all, just never done a remote start security system and I want to make sure I get it right...I hate a half ass job.

This might help, all red wires need a positive lead (feed) the pink goes to ignition 1 and pink/white to ignition 2, the purple and the green are for the starter wire as stated, cut the starter wire and connect to corresponding side, orange is optional for acc if you want, I didnt use pink/ black or orange. the viper 5701/5901 dont require any extra ignition relays like other alrms, they are built in. I checked your post, thanks for the tips. From that post I gathered something along the lines of this:
KEY: Viper alarm wires -> 91 240SX wires
PINK (+) IGNITION 1 INPUT/OUTPUT -> Ignition 1 BLACK/ RED (+)
RED / WHITE (30A) FUSED IGNITION 2 / FLEX RELAY INPUT 87 -> Constant +12
ORANGE ACCESSORY OUTPUT -> Accessory BLUE (+) (optional)
VIOLET (+) STARTER OUTPUT -> Car side of BLACK/ WHITE (+)
GREEN (+) STARTER INPUT -> Key side of BLACK/ WHITE (+)
RED (+) FUSED (30A) IGNITION 1 INPUT -> Constant +12
PINK/WHITE (+) IGNITION 2 / FLEX RELAY OUTPUT -> Starter 2 BLACK / YELLOW (+)
PINK/BLACK FLEX RELAY INPUT 87A key side (if required) of FLEX RELAY -> NOT USED
RED / BLACK FUSED (30A) ACCESSORY/STARTER INPUT -> Constant +12
And with the IGNITION 2 I'll need to program it as STARTER 2 for everything to work correctly...

I didn't program it, I just connected the wires together as descrived,  but I dont know how nissans work though, I was confused at first too but all I did was just simplify it (viper makes it sound more complicated).  But sounds right, you may want to contact other nissan members before you try any connections and risk burning any wires or alarm (I didnt have any issues). Oh and you have to initiate manual sequence or program the alarm to automatic or else it will not work and give you an ERROR message. Also as a safety precaution, connect the BLACK/ white wire to to activate remote to the parking brake to start when pulled upwards and the brown wire to the positive lead of the brake pedal in case someone tries to move the car or take off with it while on remote start that way it will shut it down. 91 nissan 240sx and viper 5701 -- posted image.

Also, I spent an extra $85 on ebay on a Bitwritter but it was worth it, it was a time saver and I could access extra features.

Nice Ill look into the Bitwriter, and I agree with you 100% on the install manual being more complicated than it really is...I have plenty of automotive electronics experience and this damn alarm manual has got me scratching my head...
Any Nissan owners, preferably S13 240SX guys, out there want to chime in on my above wiring chart?

For your confidence, I never installed an alarm before and if I can do it, you can do it, I already installed 2.  the main thing is learn what the wires from your car do. I will try to help you out as best I can tough.

I just think viper makes things sound more complicated to promote installer business. As long as you know basic electronis and do your research, anyone can do it. Plus, its fun learning new things.

Im making my own T-harness from some of my scrap 240s and this is my wiring config on it:
KEY: Viper wires -> 91 240SX wires
PINK (+) IGNITION 1 INPUT/OUTPUT -> Constant 12(+)
RED / WHITE (30A) FUSED IGNITION 2 / FLEX RELAY INPUT 87 -> Key side Ignition 2
ORANGE ACCESSORY OUTPUT -> Accessory BLUE (+) (optional)
VIOLET (+) STARTER OUTPUT -> Car side of BLACK/ WHITE (+)
GREEN (+) STARTER INPUT -> Key side of BLACK/ WHITE (+)
RED (+) FUSED (30A) IGNITION 1 INPUT -> Ignition 1 BLACK/ RED (+)
PINK/WHITE (+) IGNITION 2 / FLEX RELAY OUTPUT -> Car side Ignition 2 (+)
PINK/BLACK FLEX RELAY INPUT 87A key side (if required) of FLEX RELAY -> NOT USED
RED / BLACK FUSED (30A) ACCESSORY/STARTER INPUT -> NOT USED
Can someone please help me out here...so far the only thing for sure that I have right is the started in/outs...the manual is no help and I cant seem to find much else...
