Hello

I just finished with installing bulldog security RS1200 for my 06 High Lander.  When I plugged in the 12 volts power to the fused red wires.  The RS start clicking and flashing the parking light fast.  I followed the instruction to clear the memory for the RS but the Remote control will not response.  I also Apply 12volts to the parking brake wire (or pressed the brake pedal down) and ground the hood pin (or remove the hood pin and touched it to Ground body of the car) and press any button on the remote, it still is not responding.
Does anyone have any experience with this and what is the solution?
Thanks,

dcd

The wiring looks  OK, but you really should get a relay and an inline fuse to create a Starter2 output for the cars second starter wire.

Two things:

1.)  The clicking is normal.  Here is the resolve from Bulldog, although it seems you might have tried it already:  Double check your brake (+) connection and the hood pin (-) connection and the RS1200 antenna connection.

IF YOUR REMOTE STARTER IS CLICKING AND/OR FLASHING THE PARKING LIGHTS AND IS NOT RESPONDING TO THE REMOTE, IT IS IN SAFE MODE AND NEEDS TO BE INITIALIZED BY DOING THE FOLLOWING:

If you have a 4 button remote, you must ground the BLACK/ blue hood pin wire (raise hood if hood switch is installed). Apply 12volts to blue/black brake wire (press and hold brake pedal if wire is installed). Press and hold any button on your remote until clicking and flashing stops. Unit will now respond to the remote. Remove ground from hood pin wire and voltage from brake wire. If you have a 2 button remote, hold brake and press any button on the remote until clicking and flashing stops.

2.)  After you get that resolved, what type of bypass did you use?

I do not use by Pass because the car's key is not a computer chipped one.  Just a plain metal key will start the car just fine.

R elay and an inline fuse to create a Starter2 output for the cars second starter wire < the instruction on the installation manual saying I can connect that RS starter wire to the two wires on the car.  But if i need the relay for this.  Do you have the diagram for me to wire the relay together?  Thanks.

The most thing im worried now is the clicking and flashing of the remote start.

The clicking and flashing when you first put the fuses in is a safety feature Bulldog Security built into the RS1200.  It ensures that you have a Hood pin installed & giving a good ground and that you connected the RS1200s' Brake wire to the cars brake wire properly.   Removes the liability of an improperly installed unit from them to you.

Most Toyotas have an immobilizer.  You got lucky and saved some time & money.

While it has been done, connecting one remote starter output to two wires on the cars ignition can cause problems.  Being as you are not using the GWR wire from the RS1200, it will be easy to add the extra relay for the second starter wire.  Get a 30/40A SPDT relay, an inline fuse holder and a 20A fuse.  Wire as follows.

Relay Pin 85 to RS1200 White (-) Security Bypass Output

Relay Pin 87 to inline fuse to +12v constant ( White or Yellow ) at cars ignition harness

Relay Pin 86 to RS1200 Yellow/Black Starter Output

Relay Pin 30 to cars Second Starter wire (Black)

Relay Pin 87a     not used - insulate.

Here is what I tried to stop the clicking.

I connect the BLACK/ blue wire to the car's metal body (same as lifting up the hood).  Then depress the brake pedal (I tested to make sure that I got the brake wire connected right by using the test light-when i depress the brake pedal, the test light bulb lits up).  So I made sure i got good connection there.   With the door closed, I depress the brake and ground the hood pin.  Press any button on the 4button remote.  It will not respond.   Did I do something wrong here?

Try this.  Remove the two RS1200 30A fuses for 10 minutes.  Ground the Hood Pin wire and jumper the Brake wire to +12v constant.  Make sure the RS1200 FOB's little red light comes on strong & steady when you press a button. Verify the antenna is plugged in properly.   Insert the two fuses, the lights should start blinking,  then  press and hold the Start button.  The parking lights should stop blinking.

I tried today and it still click fast.  By the way, this unit has no antenna.  I removed the unit and let it sit for the whole night, not just 10 minutes.  Still not working.  So weird.

I could have sworn that the RS1200 has a seperate plug in connector for the extended range antenna.  Here is a Bulldog Quick wiring guide for the RS1200 :  http://www.bulldogsecurity.com/bdnew/newsite/pictures/pdfs/RS-1200E%20BLUE%20MANUAL%20INSTAL.pdf   Lower left corner.

The RS1100 has the short Yellow wire on the main connector for the antenna...

I know, i've seen it with antenna but I think it's for probably different version for a different country.  But if you look at this manual of the RS1200 series you will not see the antenna plug anywhere.
