Howdy Everyone!
I have a Viper 160XV that I proudly installed on my '97 Ford Explorer, thanks to the Wiring Diagrams on this site. Thanks again for that!
About 1 month ago, my remote start just suddenly stopped working, without working. It's been working for over half a year no problem.
I finally got around to diagnosing the problem, and the Shutdown Diagnostic Revealed Error Code 6, which is a "Shutdown (-/+)". But I've yet to figure out what to do from there.
I've check power everywhere I could think of on the Viper System, and everythings fine, and all fuses are still intact.
One side note, I had zero help installed this system, and so I FIGURED that the antenna should be on the outside... well... I've been advised otherwise now, and I agree. The Molex(?) connector looks a little worn from water and weather, however, I tested with a Digital Voltometer to make sure that I was still getting voltages, and that there was still a solid connection between the wire and the antenna, and it is still good. I have now moved the antenna to the inside of this car.
So does any one have a clue as to what the error code means? Thanks! :)

Have you checked the BLACK/ white nss wire to ensure it's getting ground during remote start initiation, also check the hood pin to ensure it's not grounding and the brown brake wire to ensure there's no positive voltage on the brake wire.

by NSS do you mean the Neutral Safety Switch? If so, it is grounded, and the brake wire I just disconnected just to help eliminate possible issues. Still no luck however.

nothing at all. System doesn't do a thing, just sits there, as if it weren't there.
