avital 4103 1995 accord ex

I have on order a new Avital 4103 to install in a 1995 Accord EX...  I have downloaded the online installation manual along with the cross reference to the Honda wiring for my vehicle...  I am hung up on a couple of items and hope to get some clearification...  They basicly hover around this neutral switch issue...

1.  Page 21 and 22 of the manual talkes ablout the neutral safety switch input and also shows a toggle switch..  The honda wiring does not state anything about a neutral wire so I need some advice here please...

2.  Does page 24 refer to the same as above...  If so, do I do this test stated on page 24 before doing anthing in part one above. 

Hopefully somebody can take the time to cross reference the manual to look at these pages...  Thanks

Is there anyone who has done this installation which could provide a cross reference of wire hookups from Avital 4103 to the Honda schematic and any problem areas...

It would be deeply appreciated..  Any input or direction would be great...  Pretty good with car wiring but just a little hung up on these two neutral questions...

The neutral safety switch (NSS) wire is only required to be connected to the vehicle if it is able to start in gear. You should not have that probelm on your accord (mostly only matters on older vehicles). To test you can simply put the car in gear with your foot close to the brake pedal and try starting it. if it tries to start then you need to connect the NSS wire. If not then you need to either ground the NSS wire or connect it through a toggle switch that you can use as a "kill" switch for the remote starter. Basically by installing the toggle switch you will have the ability to deactivate the remote starter and not allow it to be remote started.Kenny

Thanks for the update....  Makes total sense...  Could possibly answer one more question...

Page 16 talks about the installation of the momentary switch is this the same as the "push-button Valet switch" I would lean towards the yes but would just like to make sure...

Once again any cross reference sheets for Avital 4103 to the 1995 Honda wiring schematic...

There are no cross-reference sheets. You will have to match up the install diagram from the 4103 to the install data sheet for the car (can be found on this site). Make sure you test all wires with your DMM and don't put full trust in teh data sheet. As far as the momentary switch I am not 100% sure since I don't have the manual in front of me. I would assume that is correct though.Kenny

Primary Harness

H1/1-3 not used

H1/4 to Momentary Switch/ Valet Switch

H1/6 Horn to Horn (Blue/Red or GREEN/ Blue)

H1/7 not used because the Trunk release works off of a cable

H1/8 Ground - Ok with this one...

H1/9 Light Flash to Parking Lights (RED / Black)

4-Pin Satellite Harness - Not used

Heavy Gauge Relay Wiring

1 Pink to BLACK / YELLOW Ignition 1

2 Purple to BLACK/ Whire Starter 1

3 Orange to ACCESSORY /HEATER Blower Yellow

4/6 Red to White 12 Volt Constant

5 Not using

Door Lock Harness

1 Blue to Power Unlock (Orange)

3 Green to Power Lock (BLACK/ White)

Remote Start Harness

H2/1 Probably to Switch but will check

H2/2 Violet/White to Blue at Distributer

H2/3 Brown to Brake Switch (GREEN / WHITE)

H2/4 Grey to Hood Pin Switch

H2/5 Blue/White possibly to the Rear Defroster or may not use..

On this car you have two accessory wires red an yellow if u want to turn the heater with the remote start you have to use the red wire the yellow wire does the radio and other stufftriniforever

He got me wondering so I pulled the manual up and found the following in the ignition switch:

Start - BLK/WHT

ACC - WHT/BLK (This one is not mentioned on anything other than the Honda Accord shop manual)

IG1 - BLK/YEL

IG2 - YEL

Is he possibly talking about the ACC - WHT/BLK which according to the manual states to WHT/YEL Cigarette Lighter Relay and Fuse Relay

Box socket (Optional Connector - A)

The manual all states that IG2 - YEL controls all of the following:

ABS Inspection connector, ABS control unit (IG2), ABS pump motor relay, power mirror actuators, power mirror defogger (Not applicable on my model)

Recirculation control motor, Heater control panel, Rear window defogger indicator light, A/C compressor clutch relay and etc....

Just got the starter in yesterday so will attempt install this weekend...

Any input please let me know...
