Hey guys. I just installed a Viper 5704 with the DBALL module using Dd interface. Everything works great but when the car is remote started it only runs for 20-30 seconds and then it shuts off and starts again. It continuously does this. Any ideas?

Did you set the Viper to Engine Sensing = Tach Mode ( could happen automatically with newer 570x's ) and do the Tach Learn Process?
Soldering is fun!

It was initially on virtual tach and I thought that might be the issue. So I switched it to voltage sense but that doesn't seem to be working either. I'll try the tach sensing procedure in tach mode next. However if I just do no checking setting would that also solve the problem?

Ah actually just read the manual again. After so many installs I can't believe I left that step out. Thanks again. I will do that and report back.

Anything other than a true tach signal in this car(and many new Honda's) will start but only run for less than a minute due to the charging system in them. They are made to not charge at all while at idle to conserve gas, thus always showing a problem sensing voltage(at least this is what Honda says). I remember the first new Civic i did had this same issue and i ran an injector wire in the car for tach. Never had an issue since...

That actually makes a lot of sense... something I'll keep in mind for future. Although, I always use tach to be safe.

Worked fine, the DB-ALL module provided the tach signal and once I learned the signal everything was cake!

Hello.
I had my alarm/remote start installed last year and had the exact problem. The installer couldn't figure it out...here is the info he posted on this site.
"Im still scratching my head, so hopefully somebody has come across this problem in the past.
Vehicle: 2012 Honda Civic Coupe
Remote Starter: Viper 5901
Bypass: Xpresskit DB-ALL (installed D2D)
The bypass programmed right in... Keyless, trunk release, door triggers, factory arm/disarm, and the transponder bypass is fully functional.
When the vehicle is remote started, the lights flash and the vehicle starts. Because I have it set to virtual tach, the lights take 15 seconds to turn on showing that the vehicle is remote started. Once they turn on, the vehicle shuts down after 15 seconds. Shutdown diagnostics says that the brake was pressed.
For doodies and giggles, I turned the parking lights on at the switch, and attempted to remote start the vehicle again. This time it stayed running for the default 12 minutes. I removed the fuse for the lights thinking there was a weird draw or something, but the same issue exists."
I'm not the installer and haven't been able to reach him so I'm hoping someone can walk me through this fix..??? Is it super complicated to fix?? Thanks.

And yet again. ALWAYS connect to and learn tach.
If you can't find it, older diesel etc. use a tach sensing device, DEI market a very good one.
