New user here. Hello to all. I recently installed a viper system into my car and kinda got and itch to install another. (Im a huge car nut) So I have 2 systems, a Carbine plus-3000 (pretty old i think) and a hitech HT-455 (ebay special i guess)

So My first question is which is a better unit? the hitech 455 seems to have more features (cant find manual) based on the forum post.

Second question is about the remotes. (neither have one) Im able to find a replacement for the carbine but not the hitech module. I have a remote from a viper 600esp. Would that work with either module?

Thrird question is wiring. I have the wiring for the carbine but not the hitech. I know the basics, butno how to find out the instant trigger, door lock and unlock, ect. Does anyone have the manual.

Sorry to say this but in the real world:-
1)Dump the fleabay unit at least you have an install manual for the Carbine but they are both a POS, IMO.
2)Another reason to dump both! And no, no chance with the Viper remote.
3)See answer 1.
Your wasting your time and mine, you need to get a decent unit from say DEI (Viper etc.) Compustar or a nice basic Codealarm.
Buying unknown product from fleabay is a frustrating waste of time.

Sorry to be such a prophet of doom but this is the real world and that sort of thing just isn't cost or time effective.
Would you buy a car from a manufacturer of whom you'd never heard?

What do you mean by "real" world? Prophet of doom? I came here for help and this is the response? I doubt you even researched the units I was speaking of. I wont be posting to the forum. Nor would I recommend this forum to anyone. Your response was vague and didnt even address my questions. Your answer is the are pieces of doodie. cool. I wanted info on the units. Not some brit with bad teeth talking about the real world as if I dont live here. haha. Thanks for the help. I will not be asking for help again.

The real world is what happens with real equipment.
And the prophet of doom was to get you thinking. Why on earth would a Viper remote work with another brand? There are literally 100's of different remotes for DEI products, if you buy from the junkyard don't you think you should have some knowledge of these products yourself?
And I'd bet you find nothing useful about Hitech products using any search engine.
My only way of helping was to remove your delusions, please note none of your colonial countrymen has jumped in with any answers.
Lastly the advice was honest and impartial but we aren't here to hold your hand.

The main reason you didn't get the reply you expected on your post was the simple
fact that there aren't very many installers familiar with the products you mentioned
and fewer yet that answer posts ( many people lurk ).
While I have my doubts, they could be excellent systems even if they aren't real popular
with the average installer.   As you are finding out, without installation manuals available
and a source for parts, trying to install and get functioning used items obtained from a
junk yard is a big challenge. It is not impossible but will require you to be very resourceful
in your search for answers. As Howie II pointed out, even a major brand like Viper has
many different remotes that will only function on one specific model. Throw in FCC
certifications and mix-n-match is a time wasting endeavor. I will bet that you might very
well be the first person that has even thought of trying to get a Viper remote FOB to
pair up with a Carbine Plus 3000 brain.
Most professional installers have perspective customers enter their shop from time to
time with items they purchased on their own, looking for assistance with the install.
Please understand that a professional installer is very knowledgeable and might want
to help everyone, but unfortunately time is money. Spending 4 hours searching for a
an installation guide or locating a working remote is way beyond the scope of business.
Then add the problem of "implied warranty" on the install with used items or items of
unknown reliability and most professional installer will try as Howie II did, to steer you
towards a major brand with known quality & reliability. While I'm sure you paid less for
the two used incomplete systems for have, a decent remote start with keyless entry system,
like the Viper 4103LXL with two remotes, is readily available on EBay for the sum of $45.
Ask an install question on that system and see how many complete and well thought-out
replies you get within a few hours.
As you probably guessed, most professional installers have tried many major brands
and chosen one or two that meet their requirements. Namely availability, price, support,
reliability and functionality. The simple fact that no one with experience on those two
brands replied could mean something. Additionally these same professional installers
have removed and replaced many of the lessor quality systems for obvious reasons.
While you might not have liked the answer supplied by Howie II, insulting him might not
be the best course. With over 10,00 posts and many years on the forum, Howie II has seen
many posts from fellow members desperately seeking help with some no name system and
read the follow-up posts when the unit malfunctioned within weeks. Perhaps a terse
"Thank You" and re-iterate the original question, supplying more info, like type of vehicle
and the main purpose of the system ( keyless entry, alarm security, remote start, etc ) would
be more effective. Who knows, there might be a forum member out there that has actually
installed the systems you mentioned, gotten them to work and is willing to copy or post the
manuals and answer any specific questions.
Soldering is fun!

Nwa. If I was to walk into a shop. And ask for for some help or for them to install the product I purchased. THe minute the installer started using terms. "Here in the real world" I would promptly leave. That is a condisending remark and it was not called for. I am a ASE mechanic. I am very knowledge about cars. Not the modules that I enquired about. Im on plenty of forums and give plenty of advice. Howies reply was an unproved attack on my intellegence. I dont take kindly to people insulting my intellegence.

He could have simply said that it was not worth while to look into/ install these products. This forum is bs. I dont really see anyone posting new info and I can see from the lack of replies that there are not any Mods or installers here to help. Just users that insult and dont intend to help

I DIDNT ASK FOR YOUR OPINION!!!! I asked for tech data on these 2 modules. Easy. right?

I guess not.

Apart from the fact that you can't spell the advice was spot on. Now stop wasting our time and go back to romancing your sister.
If you want to swap insults rest assured I'm pretty good at it.
Be assured this is the best forum out there but if you don't change your attitude, expect no help.
As a mechanic you should damn well know that that a key fob from a Toyota won't work with a Chevy.

Both systems use 434mhz code hoping fobs. So please explain why it doesnt work? My friend has a viper alarm on his car and some off brand alarm of his spouse's car. The viper remote controls both. And I said I had a viper alarm. My fob is a automate. So that blows your knowledge out the water. Give me one reason why it wont work other than the brands are diff. Im looking for tech advice. Nobody has offered any.
