Electro Luminescent indicator light

This is how DEI calls this little light. I'm installing one of this to an alarm system. According to the instructions the red wire goes to 12v constant, and the black to the armed signal from the alarm. I hooked the 12v to constant and the black tapped into  the orange wire from the starter kill relay which is the armed output , but this thing stays on wether the system is armed or not. Anybody could help to find out why?

Diode isolate the ground when armed from the starter kill. The ground when armed is seeing a ground from the ignition.
