94 Explorer Door locks

I finally got my alarm wired and somewhat working. I now have a new problem. I wire the central locking door lock system as shown in the reversing polarity diagram on this site and the doors will work with the remote just fine but they no longer work from the switches in the car. Once I gave 12v power to the relays the swith stopped working but the auto lock then worked from the remote. If i remove the 12v supply to the relays then the switches work but the remote no longer works. What have I done wrong and how do I fix it?Dione/Birdz of A Feather

sounds like you wired the door locks wrong..... how did you wire them up?? Power Lock PINK / YELLOW DRIVER KICK #203 Power Unlock PINK/LIGHT GREEN PANEL * #201 * Without OEM Keyless See Note #203, With OEM Keyless See Note #201. #203- See Reversal Rest At Ground Door Lock Diagram. #201- See Negative Pulse Door Lock Diagram. when you hook the 12v up to the relays, do you hear them click????? if so you, you are energizing the relay and they shouldnt be until you use the remote.....that means your ground is not hooked up right.....did your truck have factory keyless entry????Good Luck

No it didn't have factory keyless, I do hear them click when I connect the 12v. the alarms ground wire is grounded. the keyless enrty module on the alarm calls for two wires to be connected and then grounded which I did. Actually it won't work until those wires are grounded. i'm starting to think that the alarm doesn't have a (-) lock/unlock wire but rather (+) lock/unlock wires.Dione/Birdz of A Feather

Hey David, you were right, I got to thinking about what you said and went straight to the wires I had hooked up as ground wires. Once I unhooked the wires from the control module that I had grounded and grounded the ones from the module that I had connected to the 12v constant source everything fell into place and started working perfectly. The locks are supposed to lock automatically when you get in the car and insert the key. That's working now also. They are also supposed to unlock automatically once you remove the key, that isn't working but I'm satisfied just the same.
