Hello everyone. I'm attempting my first install of a remote start alarm system. I having been trying for almost a week to get the remote starter to work on my 1995 Toyota Celica (automatic,hatchback,2.2L). I have no idea what I m doing wrong. The alarm system is a Prestige APS785. I have managed to install everything properly but the remote starter. I am unsure what to connect the yellow starter wire to. Can someone HELP please. There are 6 main wires from the ignition switch harness that must be connect to the 6pin harness on the alarm. Can you tell me exactly which ones from the brain to connect to which color wires. I have tried the way the manual says and no luck. I have even tried with and without the relay (which after 2 days I was able to figure out) but no luck. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks.

Please list the wire from the 6 pin harness, by color, to what wire on the Toyota, (color) you have connected.

I already tried connecting the yellow to the stater wire but im not getting anything. I got it to learn tach but I get no signal when I press the (trunk/key) button twice. My lights wont flash letting me know that the signal was received. Is there a way to test the brain for problems? I

Is there any clicking from the brain?  Do any lights light up on the dash?   Using a DMM check the Ignition, Accessory, and starter outputs of the brain for 12 volts when attempting to remote start.

I get nothing from the brain. Should I get any power output from the yellow starter wire coming from the brain when I attempt to remote start?

Bad ground?.  Hood switch active?  Brake wire active?   Control switch not plugged in and ON?   Poor connections on 12 volts? No voltage getting to brain?   Should have 12 volts output on Purple, Blue, Green and Yellow during remote start.  Time to check each wire carefully.

Are your connections soldered or crimp/scotchlock?

I used my multimeter and checked all of the wires with the car started with the key. No power to the yellow wire but others have power. I can not do a remote start. Ground is good. Tried it with and without the hood switch connected, no luck. voltage is getting to the brain because I pulled the harness from the brain and checked voltage on each wire. Still no luck. Does it matter if the control switch is plugged in or not? I have tried it with and without the switch and no remote start.

You need to check the wires coming out of the brain DURING remote start, not while the car is running. The yellow will have 12 volts ONLY DURING the start sequence. Once started 12 volts is dropped from the starter wire.   Go to the download section of this site, find the Viper 571 install manual. There is a section on finding and testing for the wires you need.
