I want to put my 901 into my wrangler. I cant seem to complete wiring info for a 09 wrangler. I'm really just interested in the remote start feature so would I need to wire up the alarm portion? I'm not sure if it will worK? I never installed half of an alarm/remote start before. Also i'm pretty sure theres no byass units needed?

Do yourself a favor and get the iDatalonk ADS-AL CA because this will save you about 2 hours of grief. You only need one key to program this as it will bypass the Sebtry system via CANBUS. Also, there's not much to wiring for this vehicle if you use th iDatalink module as well seeing that everything is done through the module. This vehicle takes about 45 minutes to install a remote starter system into for us. The wiring information can be found on idatalink's wesite if you use the drop down window and find your vehicle and download the manual for the ADS-AL CA.

Definitely need some kind of bypass, as that car does have Chrysler's Sentry Key.
You're right in that you only need to hook up the remote start portion, as you'll be carrying around the original key to do the doorlocks and panic.
I've always done them just using a universal bypass box, a blank, aftermarket Chrysler key......but the new ADS modules look really, really interesting. Just haven't had time to try one yet.
Also, be aware that the ADS AL CA comes unprogrammed. You need to either A, by their programming cable, B, find a local installer who will program the module for you, or C, buy from a seller who will program it ahead of time.

I'm about to do an 09 Wrangler too.. So the ADS-AL-CA does look like it's the way to go for sure! Question though.. What does the symbol in the diagram near the WHITE/ black and white on the right side of the bypass mean? Thanks

Oh, and it won't need the antenna ring that wraps around the cylinder, right?

tbird2340,
That's a diode. The triangle is the anode side, the line is the cathode(striped) side.

I'd say the 1N4003 or 1N4004, because their retail locations usually stock them (assuming you're near one) and the stripe's more visible. Any of those diodes should work though.

No antenna ring required, This vehicle is bypassed through CANBUS. One other thing that will make the installation go by even faster is the T-harness from iDatalink. I think it's available now.... ask your local dealer to see if they have these in stock.
