nice, no offense and im sure you know but the right powered amp would give you some more db's. im sure you can get a mid 140 with the right amp. i metered at a 143 on just 400 RMS. that box i have is killer! lol

Use to be a good measure of an amp was you paid about a dollar per watt for a good , clean , accurate amp. Im not sure if that holds true today but im sure its close. That formula has worked well for me for many years.

yea now with ebay and other places like that you can get away with about 50-75 cents a watt. but yea that formula is about right.

i like the way you redid the setup.  for someone who did it theirself, it looks quite professional.  i have been installing for 8 years now and i have seen good and bad...this is one of the best, if not the best, jobs i've seen by anyone who doesn't install for a living.  actually its better than some of the "installers'" jobs i've come across.  i don't say it very often to anyone outside of upper end installers but, good job.

looks good-  first thought in my head was: nice truck... then,  huh, a lot of stuff with the back seats out- he needs to build a box to fit right in there...  then, ok, there it is!  lol too funny.     looks good, and i know it feels a lot better to show off something that you built yourself.  nice work.     how do the subs sound firing up like that?  in my experience, you seem to hit a higher spl facing up or forward, but they always boom harder in the cab firing at theback wall.  my last vehicle i fired them down to a fiberglassed plate that focused everything forward- it was really too much.  the 4-twelves literally took the breath out of you and it was difficult to sit in the back seat at full volume.  but they didnt hit for squat on a meter (143.5 with about 1200rms split between them).

Thanks for all of the comments guys, but im sorry to say I sold that truck 95 Chevy Z71 - Page 4 -- posted image., I didnt want to but I got a great deal on an 2008 silverado that I just couldnt pass up. I loved that truck, I miss it and the system, but with gas prices these days and that truck only getting about 5 miles per gallon if im lucky I just had to do it.

As far as the system goes, it was crazy, the sound quality wasnt much to brag about but the bass was nuts, it was actually cracking my front windshield. its to bad that box doesnt fit it the new truck but im going to build a new box for it to under the back seat, I dont want to take the back seat out of the new truck. and if you wondering how those 15's are going to fit under the back seat  well there not i am going to get two 12's.

I will post pics of the new truck soon.
