I have just installed a Viper 160xvl in a 2009 Pontiac G6 using a Fortin CAN-SL2 bypass.

The door lock/unlock and trunk pop work fine but the remote start will not work.

Checked the voltage with a DMM for the ignition and accessory and they are fine.

When lock/unlock function are pressed lights in the Fortin and Viper will flash.

When remote start is pressed nothing, no lights on the Fortin or the Viper flash. The unit is not in Valet mode.

It would seem that the Viper would flash even if it were not connected to a car as long as it had the proper input voltage when the remote start function is pressed.

I my mind I am not getting the remote start output from the Viper.

Thanks for any help on this.

doubt its the remote but to confirm, tap the blue white wire to ground if it starts the remote start cycle, its remote, but i doubt. its one of the shut down wires ie: brake switch, hood switch, or toggle switch.

the thin black wire for sure needs to be to ground either through switch or straight to ground
do straight for now. check ribbon cable to relays and 30a fuses,... that unit has the relay pack right? are you pressing lock and unlock the same time to start? or the star button? 1 activation pulse,.. or more? sorry i know some of this seems obvious but,....

and lastly the most obvious is module flashed to new software? i hate those gm ignitions/modules, either they are gravy or they are nightmare. ive switched to datalink but still have some problems just less. especially d2d never works 100% lemme look up get back
