The Reman's that I have installed are all remaned after the 10D date code even though they were originally manufactured prior to the 10D date code so that may the the key. Wish there was more I could tell you as everthing that I have learned is from trial and error. So the firmware that is loaded on the main brain is key to the 7351 functioning with the older units, so it looks like you will need to do a brain swap.
Basicly we have learned that units maufactured prior to the 10D date code that haven't been remanufactured after the 10D date code won't work with the 7351 remote. And any that have been remanufactured after the 10d date code could have the newer firmware that will allow the 7351 remote to work but it's not guarenteed too.
So for all who want to upgrade to a LCD remote and have a pre 10D date code your best bet is to use the 6711t antenna and the 7752 or 7941 7652(one way) remotes for guarenteed compatibility with the 5101,5301,5601, and 5701 brains and their Python and Clifford equivalents.
If anyone has had different result please post you you findings.

You could check with the seller below by sending the seller a message and ask them to verify the date code you need, and if you ask they will work with you for just buying the brain or you can buy the whole alarm swap the brain and resell it to recoup as much of your cost as possible. As usually buying just the brain is as much or more than a refurb unit typically, if you don't know what seller to talk to.
You need to make sure that you are getting the same 18 pin or non 18 pin plug that you have now if just buying a brain.
They qouted me the brain from the 5701 and all the wiring harness' shipped $60. no antenna.no siren.no antenna cable.no remotes- discountcarstereos
Here's their ebay refurb. listing for 127.33 free shipping.
