I'm hooking up an avital 4113 to my 2007 honda accord and I see that it has all of these wires for things like door locks and factory alarm arm/disarm. I don't want any of these features, I simply want it to start up and turn off if anyone hits the break before the key is in the ignition. Is it okay just to wire up these things or will I need the other functions as well?

Yeah u can hook up as little as you like. But still have to do factory disarm or the horn will sound when it starts.

Thanks. I see that it puts a low out for the arm and disarm which is the same as my vehicle requires, but it states that you should hook it up through a relay. Is that necessary?

You shouldn't need to. Those triggers are negative.
FACTORY ARM WHITE/ red (-)   At driver's door controller
FACTORY DISARM White (-)   At driver's door controller
This module is part of the switch assembly inside the driver's door. You must run 2 wires through the door jamb boot.

No need for relay. Wires are in door or driver boot

I just finished the installation, but I'm having a bit of a problem. When I press the remote start button, the car will crank for about 6 seconds and try again 2 more times, but will not actually start. The Avital installation manual said I might have a switch-up on my ignition or accessory wires, but I've double checked my connections and know that they are correct. If I leave the key in Accessory before pressing the button it works correctly. Anyone run into this issue in the past?
On a side note, there is one more 10 gauge wire in the ignition harness that is WHITE/ red. According to the wiring diagram on this website, it is a keysense, but it behaves like an accessory wire. Is it possible I need to hook that up?
