Hi, I have a Directed "DEI ProSecurity SAA998T Programming Tool" with Version 1.5 chip. Will the upgrade V2.9 chip work in my unit and do I need to upgrade the ROM microprocessor too?
Is it possible to flash my current v1.5 chip with the v2.9 firmware if I have an IC programmer?
Thanks in advance...

Hey antonic, I also just purchased the SAA998T programmer with the Ver 1.5 chip and am planning on upgrading to the 2.9 chip. Did you also need to upgrade the 998M memory module as well for it to work correctly?

I'm not too sure, Smokeman gave me a V2.6 Chip and it worked. Didn't have to change memory module...

Just read that my bitwriter is an old version and it will require both 998M board and 998U EEPROM chip.
