Question guys: What would happen if I didn't use the 1N4001 diodes for the door triggers?

Assuming the instrument panel has a display for individual door open, not using a diode will cause "crosstalk" between doors. if you dont want to use the diodes, go to the domelight and use that feed.

Ok got it thanks. I'll go for the domelight feed. Now do I need a diode for the domelight feed? Also I noticed on the Viper manual, the domelight (supervision) is an output, not an input. Will the alarm go off if door is opened and domelight goes on?

No diode is needed for the domelight feed. Use the green negative door trigger input of the alarm and connect it to the door trigger wire at the domelight. No need to use the black/white dome light output, that car already has domelight supervision.

Perfect thanks T&T. Is it possible to find the domelight wire down at the driver's side kickpanel? My car is a 2013 Prius. Thanks again!

Unsure as I've never worked on a Prius personally. With Toyota though it will be at either of the A pillars. Go to the Passenger side first.
