I am getting ready to install a remote starter in a 2000 Grand Cherokee, and when I got the wiring diagram it has some resistors listed(parking lights, head lights etc.). Does this mean I need to put resistors in between the remote start unit and the wire for whatever has a resistor listed?

yes, that is correct. You will also need to use relays and have the resistor on the output pin of the relay to ground or to 12 volts depending on the function.

Resistors on a Grand Cherokee? I never use any. Must know the parking light relay trick explained here before.

I am installing a Direct Start CS423 in a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and I need help finding the wire for the factory disarm. I have everything hooked up except for that, and when I tried to remote start, it started and ran for about 5 seconds, and then shut down and wouldn't start again with the remote after that. Any ideas?

Does it have a Grey Key ???

if so, the jeep has some kind of antitheft that need to bypass. use 555u or 555c

yes it has a grey key and I used the expresskit bypass from direct start

Your bypass isnt functioning. Try laying the head of the key on the top of the steering colum and remote starting... or putting the key in the ignition (in the off position) this will help you to determine if its the bypass failing or not.... 9 times out or 10... it is.

I have used JDL-PK and once I got it to work it works like a charm. It is all in one box: provides bypass without a key, lock, unlock, arm, disarm, and window rollup.

you can also use the negative trip hazard lite wire to flash your parking lights instead of resistors
