Go ahead and cut my siren, disconnect the battery too. My alarm will keep going off. Its not a cheesy install. It has backup devices that make it a true security system, not a noise maker.
1. Cut the siren, there is not sound.

2. Cut the antena, you can't get signal by your remote. Any backup antena?

Dude you are an idiot. There are such things as backup battery sirens, backup batteries, stealth installs (so that they will never find the antenna or brain), and many other things. I have over 40+hours of install time on my alarm. You ain't finding sh*t in the car for the alarm.
Oh yeah, learn to use the quote button.
Also, JWorm I didn't say that, LOL.

why do we install the alarm system?
Everyone has thier own reason(s) for installing an alarm system, even if, it is not based on reality, common sense, or facts.
Some people do it to reduce their deductable. Others do so because it gives them a peace of mind, others hope to reduce the amount of damage that *may occure* during a theft.
Others, want to be informed of a violation, so as they
may dish out their own form of justice.
You cannot stop, or react fast enough to a simple smash and grab, or where it is simple vandalism.
That is the simple fact on that. If the theive(s) intent is to steal the entire vehicle or parts of the vehicle, then, you have a measure of time to react and do what ever you want.
Assuming you are within ear shot of the siren, or have paging capability.
Regardless of the above, common sense and living these key phrases will account to 90% of theft deterrent you will ever get.
And this is simply a life style and common sense.

They are breaking into your car, why would they be gentle? Hell it wouldn't even take a crowbar, you could probably kick it open if you wanted to.

I knew. I knew thief can do that. But my friend's car was stole the MP3 player last week. and his car is still keeping nice looking, nothing broken on doors, glass or trunk. not just like your guys talking using the screwbar something like that.  That is really impressing me very much.

Sorry auex, I edited my post because I screwed up my quoting also. Now I can't go back and change it. I should have realized a long time member here like yourself wouldn't say something that stupid.
I'm only at about 18-20 hours on my alarm install. Someday I'll finish it by adding a couple more piezos and glass break sensor.

i just bought a universal lock out kit from matco, arrived today.  its pimp :o  i dont say that much... its got the plastic wedge, inflatable wedge, lock button puller (like fords) and a huge pink rod with plastic covered ends to poke power lock buttons or pull handles.  takes about 10 seconds with a wet wedge to open a car.

as for the trunk, most of the entries ive seen, people knock the key cyl. in and open it.

as for windows, they dont have to be smashed.   the right amount of pressure in the right spot works well.  some shock sensors wont pick that up.  thats why there is a glass break audio sensor.  now, the alarm had beter go off when the door is open, or you have a horrible install.  as for trucks, pop the rear window off track, or hell, be an ass and pull out the whole rear window seal.

thats all a bit above the typical smash and grab.  those are more for getting around security you know the vehicle has.  also if you know what specific deck/subs/whatever youre going for, and how its installed.

Well...your answer is what I want to know.  I left key inside car one time, the CAA guy can open my door within 1 minute without breaking anything. It is crazy fast that I can't believe my eyes. From that time, I don't leave anything inside the car. I replaced my cd player as face off DVD player, took off the subwoodfer, replaced the in dash monitor as stand alone monitor.  Stand alone monitor is easy carried.

Now, i still have some tools worth some money left in the trunk. I cut the wires of release button and install 2 way alarm. But I am still worry about that. Because I find the alarm send out the signal to remote delay 5 seconds from the door is opened. So I think thief can cut the siren and antena or cut the wires on main unit of alarm. Alarm is not hard to be located by  just following the brake wire (Most brake wire is easy to be located.)

And I know most senior thieves dont break anything to enter the car. If they enter the car with screwbar, that I can't say anything here. screwbar can do what you want. not only car, house also.

ok, so install the alarm in a non conventional spot.  its not hard to putone behind a glove box or install it from the top of the dash downward.  hell, buy someones old broken alarm and tie it up under the dash somewhere visible and tape the wires up with the real alarm wires, like a dummy brain.  you could also route the antenna differently, or buy an actual RF paging system.

the best thing to do is park smart.  even at the bay at work, i park with my trunk against the back wall and atleast one door close to the other wall.  the faceplate comes off the radio and into my soft case, then to my tool box.  when the sun goes down its right under two bright parking lights and the road behind the shop has decent traffic.  my LED is highly visible and there is nothing sitting on my cars interior.  my mack back gets lock inthe trunk, and the interior trunk release is cut off, remote trunk only.  the cable from the key cyl, is un-hooked.  the sub box and amp rack is bolted down, the deck is back strapped to the rear of the dash (firewall).  also, i dont play my system loud near my apartment or on the drive to work.  usually i only turn it up on the highway  Can a Thief Open the Trunk? - Page 2 -- posted image. .  i park under my window at the apartment, and if customers ask what i have in my car, i say its all stock.  most installers say that and mention its no fun to go home and work on you own car.

still, it only takes one ass to break a window.  im not worried about my stuff going anywhere, just the feeling of violation.

Thanks so much for your advices!!!!

I park my car really close to the wall. It is not easy to use lock out kit or screwbar. I park my car on a rush and bright place as what you say. But I don't know where do I put the sub box and AMP. do you put them in the trunk?under the cover of the spare tire?

I still meet a problem is that I live at 10 floor and the car is parked underground. Sometimes it lost signal because the range does not cover so far.  Any sugguestion about that?
