I have a 98 s-10  and mine stays on for 20 minutes. why would you want to kill it other then the remote start problem. I think its good to have

the remote start problem, my system BLARING and bumping.... that sort of thing...

Sounds like to me the easiest way to fix the problem is to hit the POWER button on the head unit and turn it off. Or if that doesn't float your boat, you could always turn the volume all the way down. That would work too 2001 chevy s10, retained acc. power - Page 2 -- posted image. . Can't get too lazy ya know...

what you want to do is wire the "rearm" wire from your RS unit to the drivers door pin wire in your vehicle... that way when the Starter times out or you shut it off the circuit designed to rearm the factory alarm will actually pulse the door pin circuit replicating opening the drivers door... this will automatically shut off the radio as soon as the remote starter shuts down.....

simple as can be... i wire all starters this way on vehicles with a RAP circuit.....
