Your crazy but if you want to do it be sure to insulate the handles from the rest of the door and the car alike, otherwise you'll be sending a ton of electricity through the cars grounding systems,
I like this one its the first time I got to laugh at the replys, I have heard about these for years now , but I have never seen a succesful installation for it,
If I were you i would put a shot gun on the front seat with a wire connected to the triger and the barrel aimed at the door, and on the window I'd place a sticker that reads " Vehicle Armed With Self Fireing 12 ga. shot gun, intruders will be shot at FIRST attemp of entry! have a good day."
Please dont try the gun thing,if you do, dont hold me responsible for your actions, or the little old lady that tried to get into what she thought to be HER 1987 cavilier. thanks.

i contacted a lawyer, its not illegal as long as i have warning stickers posted in plain sight. kind of like the electric fence idea.
Wrong. Electrified fences are to keep animals in and not intruder's out. Your lawyer is wrong. Also warning stickers don't mean shhh because you can't just make it legal because you say it is there. I guarantee you it is illegal. So where do you live so I can collect my money?

i just contacted some city inspecter guy who deals with this part of the law. and there is no statue(sp?) in the state of wisconsin saying that this is illegal but i am obviously liable if a little kid touches it and gets zapped off his feet, but only if im on public property, if im on my own private property its the same deal as an electrified fence to keep criminals out of a salvage yard or any thing else.
but i thought about it and to be honest i dont think its worth the liability of being sued and shhh.
it would be funny as hell to see the thief get cooked while trying to steal my system though....but its not worth it....so i guess this one is thrown in the can...

Curiosity kills the cats. LOL.
Put it in Tazor or Electric handle what ever you want to call it. I look at it this way; it’s one less thief for the rest of us to worry about in world. Don’t worry about the defending yourself. You can alway use Insanity. Insanity is the oldest trick in the book. They don’t teach you this in Law School. You heard voices telling you to do this to protect yourself and your family…..and you leave the rest for your lawyer to tell the jury the rest of the story. When it's all said and done you get yourself a book deal and everyone is a happy camper, that's except for the guy who has a fascination for your car. electrified car alarm - Page 2 -- posted image.electrified car alarm - Page 2 -- posted image.
Be careful whose advice you buy, but be patient with those who supply it.electrified car alarm - Page 2 -- posted image.

What kind of inspector does this job??? If you really want to know then contact the states district attorney.

That would be a conflict of interest. The DA are the same people that don't allow you to grow the happy plant. To them everything is against the law.

Well they would be the people to call since it would be them who would eventually be filing the criminal charges.

Found the statute that would apply to this, and no you it doesn't matter where the car is. WI state statute 939.49. It states it is illegal to use any force that can cause death to protect personal or retail property.
Ok, it still applies but I am having trouble coming up with the exact legal term for man trap. Damn lawyer speak.

I remember seeing a TV programme about car-jacking in South Africa. A guy there had come up with a set of flame throwers which mounted underneath a car. If someone approached you could just press a button and toast them.
Now imagine wiring that up to a proximity sensor :)
