I Installed crime stopper CS2011RS4 on a Chevrolet Malibu 1999. Start worked first few times and now it dose not work Crimestopper CS2011RS4 start problem -- posted image.. I took a second look at the manual and i see: (use external relays for high current ignition and or accessory circuits grater then 30A Failure to do so could result in damage to the unit).

Besides replacing the brain what do I need? Crimestopper CS2011RS4 start problem -- posted image.

Any one know if this car got more then 30A current in ignition or accessory circuits?

And if Yes how do I connect the relay? Maybe some one got a diagram.

All help is really appreciated.

Thank you

You mentioned that it doesn't work now ? What doesn't work & what does work ? Does it attempt to crank and fail to start or does it not even attempt to start but the dash lights all come on ?
Most vehicle systems do not draw more than 20 amps of current aside from rear defrosts and A/C condensors. I would trace back my connections if I were you to see if there's a blown fuse, bad ground or if the Passlock wires are correct and still intact.

Thank you Jeff,

Nothing works, the lights do not light up on the in the instrument cluster. No cranking, to relays clicking. No signs of life at all.
I cheeked the fuses and all fuses are fine.
The guy I got the alarm from told me that he will change the bran for me.
I am really reluctant connecting the new bran to the wiring that burned out one brain already.
Maybe I should install fuses in to ignition and accessory wires?
I rechecked connections and it all seems to be 100% in order.
I do not know what else to do
Thank you

thank you Ziggy

I pulled out a radio and ignition harness is right there I striped about   1/3 of an inch of the wires and wound the alarm wire around the exposed portion. (solid connections)Than I insulated it with electric tape.  I ground it to the metal body support structure behind the radio.  Ground was connected last

Did you not solder them?  If not, that could be your problem.  Other things to check.. ground, antenna.  Try putting the unit in learn mode (open hood, or ground grey wire, and turn key to on postion NOT START, and push the program button five times.. if you hear five clicks, and the lights flash... then you have an antenna or remote problem.  It nothing, then you have a ground or power issue.  The chances of you getting a bad brain are very low.  Post how it turns out

thanks you Haku,

Do I really have to solder all connections?  Can I get a second opinion on this.

Do you think that a week connection at the ignition or ground could have caused this problem?  I remember connecting and disconnecting the ground a few time wile remote staring it  to test it out.

Thank You

You should check you power connection(30a fuses),and then check your ground connection,If both of those are good make sure the antennae is plugged in.My opinion is that you should always solder those high current connections!

Thank you prdjr

Fuses are good antenna is plugged in I will solder the connections.
So you think that the poor connection could have caused the bran to burn out?
Thank you

I'm not sure, are you sure the brain is bad?I really don't think a loose connection will fry the brain. What about reprograming the remotes.I have heard that sometimes Crimestopper remotes lose their programing.
